撒馬利亞之先知、託巴力之名振振有詞、欲使我民以色列族舛錯、維我洞見其愚。

“ Among the prophets of Samaria I saw this repulsive thing: They prophesied by Baal and led my people Israel astray.

“ I saw that the prophets of Samaria were terribly evil, for they prophesied in the name of Baal and led my people of Israel into sin.

Among the prophets of Samaria I saw something disgusting: They prophesied by Baal and led my people Israel astray.

“ Moreover, among the prophets of Samaria I saw an offensive thing: They prophesied by Baal and led My people Israel astray.

“ And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria: They prophesied by Baal And caused My people Israel to err.

The LORD says,“ I saw the prophets of Samaria doing something that was disgusting. They prophesied in the name of the god Baal and led my people Israel astray.

“ I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

訓導斯民者、偏頗是尚、為所蠱惑者、淪胥以亡、

對曰、貽禍於以色列族、非我也、乃爾及爾父之家、違耶和華命、奉事巴力故耳。今爾當召以色列族眾、至加密山、亦召從巴力、佯為先知者、四百五十人、崇拜偶像、佯為先知為耶洗別之食客者四百人。亞哈遂召以色列族眾、集諸先知、至加密山。以利亞至民前曰、爾曹執持兩端、躊躇未決、將伊於何底乎。如以耶和華為上帝、則從耶和華、如以巴力為上帝、則從巴力。斯民無言以對。

降災罰惡、其日已屆、以色列族必知之、因犯罪惡、蓄怨不已、故彼冒為先知、佯托感神、卒見愚蠢、而發狂疾、以法蓮他求應援、不恃我上帝、彼偽先知、備設羅網、專陷齊民、居於他上帝殿、蓄怨不已、

以利亞告眾曰、從巴力偽為先知者、爾當執之、毋遺一人。遂執之、以利亞攜至基順溪、悉殺戮焉。

以利亞告巴力之先知曰、爾曹甚眾、先簡一犢、預備以獻、惟不縱火、籲爾之上帝。於是取所予之犢備之、自朝至於日中、籲巴力曰、巴力乎、尚其聽我。巴力杳無聲響、不能應對、其先知踊於所築之壇。亭午、以利亞戲之曰、可大聲而呼、彼乃上帝、或默想、或燕居、或遠行、或假寐、爾必使其儆醒。遂大聲呼籲、以刃以匕自割其肉、迨及血流、循其常例。
