爾以香柏之工競美、豈得因此為王乎、爾父式飲式食、秉公行義、而獲福祉、

耶和華曰、爾雖以柏香木為板、以示華美、豈得恆居王位。爾父日用飲食、躬行仁義、而享福祉、彼為貧乏伸冤、既識我道、遂得亨通、

爾以柏香木竭力建造宮室、豈因此能為王乎、爾父雖飲雖食、仍秉公行義而享福祉、

“ Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him.

“ Jehoiakim, does having more and more cedar boards make you a king? Your father Josiah had enough to eat and drink. He did what was right and fair. So everything went well with him.

Do you think you are a king because you compete in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.

But a beautiful cedar palace does not make a great king! Your father, Josiah, also had plenty to eat and drink. But he was just and right in all his dealings. That is why God blessed him.

Are you a king because you excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink and administer justice and righteousness? Then it went well with him.

Do you become a king because you are competing in cedar? Did your father not eat and drink And do justice and righteousness? Then it was well for him.

“ Shall you reign because you enclose yourself in cedar? Did not your father eat and drink, And do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.

Shalt thou reign, because thou strivest to excel in cedar? Did not thy father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? then it was well with him.

Are you a king because you excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink and administer justice and righteousness? Then it went well with him.

Does it make you any more of a king that you outstrip everyone else in building with cedar? Just think about your father. He was content that he had food and drink. He did what was just and right. So things went well with him.

“ Should you reign, because you strive to excel in cedar? Didn’t your father eat and drink, and do justice and righteousness? Then it was well with him.

And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there[ any] like him.

Say ye to the righteous, that[ it shall be] well[ with him]: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

The king by judgment establisheth the land: but he that receiveth gifts overthroweth it.

Take away the wicked[ from] before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.

Blessed[ art] thou, O land, when thy king[ is] the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!

Blessed[ is] every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy[ shalt] thou[ be], and[ it shall be] well with thee.

And he did[ that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.

To do justice and judgment[ is] more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Whether[ it be] good, or whether[ it be] evil, we will obey the voice of the LORD our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the LORD our God.

Blessed be the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel: because the LORD loved Israel for ever, therefore made he thee king, to do judgment and justice.

And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.

O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver[ him that is] spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench[ it], because of the evil of your doings.

Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong[ thy] days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

Of the increase of[ his] government and peace[ there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

[ There is] nothing better for a man,[ than] that he should eat and drink, and[ that] he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it[ was] from the hand of God.

He shall dwell on high: his place of defence[ shall be] the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters[ shall be] sure.

And the sons of Josiah[ were], the firstborn Johanan, the second Jehoiakim, the third Zedekiah, the fourth Shallum.

Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him,[ saying], Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him,[ saying], Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!

And they removed the burnt offerings, that they might give according to the divisions of the families of the people, to offer unto the LORD, as[ it is] written in the book of Moses. And so[ did they] with the oxen.And they roasted the passover with fire according to the ordinance: but the[ other] holy[ offerings] sod they in pots, and in caldrons, and in pans, and divided[ them] speedily among all the people.And afterward they made ready for themselves, and for the priests: because the priests the sons of Aaron[ were busied] in offering of burnt offerings and the fat until night; therefore the Levites prepared for themselves, and for the priests the sons of Aaron.And the singers the sons of Asaph[ were] in their place, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Jeduthun the king’s seer; and the porters[ waited] at every gate; they might not depart from their service; for their brethren the Levites prepared for them.So all the service of the LORD was prepared the same day, to keep the passover, and to offer burnt offerings upon the altar of the LORD, according to the commandment of king Josiah.And the children of Israel that were present kept the passover at that time, and the feast of unleavened bread seven days.And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel from the days of Samuel the prophet; neither did all the kings of Israel keep such a passover as Josiah kept, and the priests, and the Levites, and all Judah and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Judah and Israel[ were] many, as the sand which[ is] by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river unto the land of the Philistines, and unto the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal,Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowl.

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

And Josiah gave to the people, of the flock, lambs and kids, all for the passover offerings, for all that were present, to the number of thirty thousand, and three thousand bullocks: these[ were] of the king’s substance.And his princes gave willingly unto the people, to the priests, and to the Levites: Hilkiah and Zechariah and Jehiel, rulers of the house of God, gave unto the priests for the passover offerings two thousand and six hundred[ small cattle], and three hundred oxen.

But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.

And he did[ that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined[ neither] to the right hand, nor to the left.

Go thy way, eat thy bread with joy, and drink thy wine with a merry heart; for God now accepteth thy works.Let thy garments be always white; and let thy head lack no ointment.Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that[ is] thy portion in[ this] life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do[ it] with thy might; for[ there is] no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
