Listen, you who sit enthroned above the valley on a rocky plateau. I am opposed to you,’ says the LORD.‘ You boast,“ No one can swoop down on us. No one can penetrate into our places of refuge.”

耶和華曰、爾居陵谷、處平原、據巖穴以為家、自謂無人干犯、無人入室、我耶和華攻爾、視爾所行而加刑罰、燃火於林、四面焚燬。

惟爾居山谷與平原之磐巖者、爾云、孰能下而攻我、孰能入我居所、主曰、我必臨而攻爾、

I am against you, Jerusalem, you who live above this valley on the rocky plateau, declares the Lord— you who say,“ Who can come against us? Who can enter our refuge?”

Jerusalem, I am against you,” announces the Lord.“ You live above this valley. You are on a high, rocky plain. And you say,‘ Who can come against us? Who can enter our place of safety?’

“ Behold, I am against you, O inhabitant of the valley, O rock of the plain, declares the Lord; you who say,‘ Who shall come down against us, or who shall enter our habitations?’

I will personally fight against the people in Jerusalem, that mighty fortress— the people who boast,“ No one can touch us here. No one can break in here.”

“ Behold, I am against you, you inhabitant of the valley, You rocky plain,” declares the Lord,“ You who say,‘ Who will come down against us? Or who will enter our dwellings?’

Neither the kings of the earth nor the people of the lands ever thought that enemy or foe would enter the gates of Jerusalem.מ( Mem)

Your presumptuous heart has deceived you– you who reside in the safety of the rocky cliffs, whose home is high in the mountains. You think to yourself,‘ No one can bring me down to the ground!’Even if you were to soar high like an eagle, even if you were to make your nest among the stars, I can bring you down even from there!” says the LORD.

“‘ Therefore, this is what the sovereign LORD says: Because you have spoken false words and forecast delusion, look, I am against you, declares the sovereign LORD.

“ Listen! I am opposed to you, you proud city,” says the Lord GOD who rules over all.“ Indeed, your day of reckoning has come, the time when I will punish you.

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, now and forevermore.

So I, the LORD, affirm that I am opposed to those prophets who steal messages from one another that they claim are from me.I, the LORD, AFFIRM that I am opposed to those prophets who are using their own tongues to declare,‘ The LORD declares….’I, the LORD, affirm that I am opposed to those prophets who dream up lies and report them. They are misleading my people with their reckless lies. I did not send them. I did not commission them. They are not helping these people at all. I, the LORD, affirm it!”

Her leaders take bribes when they decide legal cases, her priests proclaim rulings for profit, and her prophets read omens for pay. Yet they claim to trust the LORD and say,“ The LORD is among us. Disaster will not overtake us!”

Why do you brag about your great power? Your power is ebbing away, you rebellious people of Ammon, who trust in your riches and say,‘ Who would dare to attack us?’I will bring terror on you from every side,” says the Lord GOD who rules over all.“ You will be scattered in every direction. No one will gather the fugitives back together.

The terror you inspire in others and the arrogance of your heart have deceived you. You may make your home in the clefts of the rocks; you may occupy the highest places in the hills. But even if you made your home where the eagles nest, I would bring you down from there,” says the LORD.

In anger, in fury, and in wrath I myself will fight against you with my mighty power and great strength!
