O royal family descended from David. The Lord says:‘ See to it that people each day are judged fairly. Deliver those who have been robbed from those who oppress them. Otherwise, my wrath will blaze out against you. It will burn like a fire that cannot be put out because of the evil that you have done.

This is what the Lord says to you, house of David:“‘ Administer justice every morning; rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed, or my wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done— burn with no one to quench it.

Here is what the Lord says to you who belong to David’s royal house.“‘ “Every morning do what is right and fair. Save those who have been robbed. Set them free from the people who have treated them badly. If you do not, my anger will blaze out against you. It will burn like fire because of the evil things you have done. No one will be able to put it out.

O house of David! Thus says the Lord:“‘ Execute justice in the morning, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed, lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn with none to quench it, because of your evil deeds.’”

This is what the Lord says to the dynasty of David:“‘ Give justice each morning to the people you judge! Help those who have been robbed; rescue them from their oppressors. Otherwise, my anger will burn like an unquenchable fire because of all your sins.

House of David, this is what the LORD says: Administer justice every morning, and rescue the victim of robbery from his oppressor, or my anger will flare up like fire and burn unquenchably because of your evil deeds.

house of David, this is what the Lord says:“ Administer justice every morning; And save the person who has been robbed from the power of his oppressor, So that My wrath will not spread like fire And burn, with no one to extinguish it, Because of the evil of their deeds.

O house of David! Thus says the Lord:“ Execute judgment in the morning; And deliver him who is plundered Out of the hand of the oppressor, Lest My fury go forth like fire And burn so that no one can quench it, Because of the evil of your doings.

O house of David, thus saith Jehovah, Execute justice in the morning, and deliver him that is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

House of David, this is what the Lord says: Administer justice every morning, and rescue the victim of robbery from the hand of his oppressor, or My anger will flare up like fire and burn unquenchably because of their evil deeds.

O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver[ him that is] spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench[ it], because of the evil of your doings.

House of David, Yahweh says,‘ Execute justice in the morning, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my wrath go out like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

Learn to do what is right! Promote justice! Give the oppressed reason to celebrate! Take up the cause of the orphan! Defend the rights of the widow!

Just as ritual circumcision cuts away the foreskin as an external symbol of dedicated covenant commitment, you must genuinely dedicate yourselves to the LORD and get rid of everything that hinders your commitment to me, people of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. If you do not, my anger will blaze up like a flaming fire against you that no one will be able to extinguish. That will happen because of the evil you have done.”

Say:‘ Listen, O king of Judah who follows in David’s succession. You, your officials, and your subjects who pass through the gates of this palace must listen to what the LORD says.The LORD says,“ Do what is just and right. Deliver those who have been robbed from those who oppress them. Do not exploit or mistreat foreigners who live in your land, children who have no fathers, or widows. Do not kill innocent people in this land.

Open your mouth on behalf of those unable to speak, for the legal rights of all the dying.Open your mouth, judge in righteousness, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

The powerful will be like a thread of yarn, their deeds like a spark; both will burn together, and no one will put out the fire.

and say to the scrub land of the Negev,‘ Hear the word of the LORD: This is what the sovereign LORD says: Look here, I am about to start a fire in you, and it will devour every green tree and every dry tree in you. The flaming fire will not be extinguished, and the whole surface of the ground from the Negev to the north will be scorched by it.And everyone will see that I, the LORD, have burned it; it will not be extinguished.’”

You will lose your hold on the land which I gave to you as a permanent possession. I will make you serve your enemies in a land that you know nothing about. For you have made my anger burn like a fire that will never be put out.”

Perhaps then they will ask the LORD for mercy and will all stop doing the evil things they have been doing. For the LORD has threatened to bring great anger and wrath against these people.”

No one can withstand his indignation! No one can resist his fierce anger! His wrath is poured out like volcanic fire, boulders are broken up as he approaches.

That is how they have grown fat and sleek. There is no limit to the evil things they do. They do not plead the cause of the fatherless in such a way as to win it. They do not defend the rights of the poor.

So,” the Lord GOD says,“ my raging fury will be poured out on this land. It will be poured out on human beings and animals, on trees and crops. And it will burn like a fire which cannot be extinguished.”

The just LORD resides within her; he commits no unjust acts. Every morning he reveals his justice. At dawn he appears without fail. Yet the unjust know no shame.

“ The LORD who rules over all said,‘ Exercise true judgment and show brotherhood and compassion to each other.You must not oppress the widow, the orphan, the foreigner, or the poor, nor should anyone secretly plot evil against his fellow human being.’“ But they refused to pay attention, turning away stubbornly and stopping their ears so they could not hear.

But just watch! The wrath of the LORD will come like a storm! Like a raging storm it will rage down on the heads of those who are wicked.

For he has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David,

Each morning I will destroy all the wicked people in the land, and remove all evildoers from the city of the LORD.

The Lord fully vented his wrath; he poured out his fierce anger. He started a fire in Zion; it consumed her foundations.ל( Lamed)

Does it make you any more of a king that you outstrip everyone else in building with cedar? Just think about your father. He was content that he had food and drink. He did what was just and right. So things went well with him.He upheld the cause of the poor and needy. So things went well for Judah.’ The LORD says,‘ That is a good example of what it means to know me.’But you are always thinking and looking for ways to increase your wealth by dishonest means. Your eyes and your heart are set on killing some innocent person and committing fraud and oppression.

So Isaiah replied,“ Pay attention, family of David. Do you consider it too insignificant to try the patience of men? Is that why you are also trying the patience of my God?

In fierce anger he destroyed the whole army of Israel. He withdrew his right hand as the enemy attacked. He was like a raging fire in the land of Jacob; it consumed everything around it.ד( Dalet)He prepared his bow like an enemy; his right hand was ready to shoot. Like a foe he killed everyone, even our strong young men; he has poured out his anger like fire on the tent of Daughter Zion.ה( He)

There was also a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying,‘ Give me justice against my adversary.’For a while he refused, but later on he said to himself,‘ Though I neither fear God nor have regard for people,yet because this widow keeps on bothering me, I will give her justice, or in the end she will wear me out by her unending pleas.’”

for it is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be in fear, for it does not bear the sword in vain. It is God’s servant to administer retribution on the wrongdoer.

Because of that, the LORD, the God who rules over all, said to me,“ Because these people have spoken like this, I will make the words that I put in your mouth like fire. And I will make this people like wood which the fiery judgments you speak will burn up.”

If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off! It is better for you to enter into life crippled than to have two hands and go into hell, to the unquenchable fire.

“ Son of man, the house of Israel has become slag to me. All of them are like bronze, tin, iron, and lead in the furnace; they are the worthless slag of silver.Therefore this is what the sovereign LORD says:‘ Because all of you have become slag, look out!– I am about to gather you in the middle of Jerusalem.As silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin are gathered in a furnace so that the fire can melt them, so I will gather you in my anger and in my rage. I will deposit you there and melt you.I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of my fury, and you will be melted in it.As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted in it, and you will know that I, the LORD, have poured out my anger on you.’”

So I have poured my anger on them, and destroyed them with the fire of my fury. I hereby repay them for what they have done, declares the sovereign LORD.”

It was reported to the family of David,“ Syria has allied with Ephraim.” They and their people were emotionally shaken, just as the trees of the forest shake before the wind.

Deliver those being taken away to death, and hold back those slipping to the slaughter.If you say,“ But we did not know about this,” does not the one who evaluates hearts consider? Does not the one who guards your life know? Will he not repay each person according to his deeds?

For a fire has been kindled by my anger, and it burns to lowest Sheol; it consumes the earth and its produce, and ignites the foundations of the mountains.

In anger, in fury, and in wrath I myself will fight against you with my mighty power and great strength!

David reigned over all Israel; he guaranteed justice for all his people.

“ Bring a plan, make a decision! Provide some shade in the middle of the day! Hide the fugitives! Do not betray the one who tries to escape!Please let the Moabite fugitives live among you. Hide them from the destroyer!” Certainly the one who applies pressure will cease, the destroyer will come to an end, those who trample will disappear from the earth.Then a trustworthy king will be established; he will rule in a reliable manner, this one from David’s family. He will be sure to make just decisions and will be experienced in executing justice.

Those who go down to Egypt for help are as good as dead, those who rely on war horses, and trust in Egypt’s many chariots and in their many, many horsemen. But they do not rely on the Holy One of Israel and do not seek help from the LORD.Yet he too is wise and he will bring disaster; he does not retract his decree. He will attack the wicked nation, and the nation that helps those who commit sin.

To arouse anger, to take vengeance, I have placed her blood on an exposed rock so that it cannot be covered up.“‘ Therefore this is what the sovereign LORD says: Woe to the city of bloodshed! I will also make the pile high.Pile up the bones, kindle the fire; cook the meat well, mix in the spices, let the bones be charred.Set the empty pot on the coals, until it becomes hot and its copper glows, until its uncleanness melts within it and its rot is consumed.It has tried my patience; yet its thick rot is not removed from it. Subject its rot to the fire!You mix uncleanness with obscene conduct. I tried to cleanse you, but you are not clean. You will not be cleansed from your uncleanness until I have exhausted my anger on you.“‘ I the LORD have spoken; judgment is coming and I will act! I will not relent, or show pity, or be sorry! I will judge you according to your conduct and your deeds, declares the sovereign LORD.’”

On the next day Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood around Moses from morning until evening.

“ I, the LORD, promise that a new time will certainly come when I will raise up for them a righteous branch, a descendant of David. He will rule over them with wisdom and understanding and will do what is just and right in the land.

I will walk in hostile rage against you and I myself will also discipline you seven times on account of your sins.

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD’s angry judgment. The whole earth will be consumed by his fiery wrath. Indeed, he will bring terrifying destruction on all who live on the earth.”

Woe to you, O land, when your king is childish, and your princes feast in the morning!Blessed are you, O land, when your king is the son of nobility, and your princes feast at the proper time– with self-control and not in drunkenness.

For he will rescue the needy when they cry out for help, and the oppressed who have no defender.He will take pity on the poor and needy; the lives of the needy he will save.From harm and violence he will defend them; he will value their lives.

I broke the fangs of the wicked, and made him drop his prey from his teeth.

He says,“ How long will you make unjust legal decisions and show favoritism to the wicked?( Selah)Defend the cause of the poor and the fatherless! Vindicate the oppressed and suffering!Rescue the poor and needy! Deliver them from the power of the wicked!

O God, grant the king the ability to make just decisions! Grant the king’s son the ability to make fair decisions!Then he will judge your people fairly, and your oppressed ones equitably.The mountains will bring news of peace to the people, and the hills will announce justice.He will defend the oppressed among the people; he will deliver the children of the poor and crush the oppressor.
