This is what the Lord says to you, house of David:“‘ Administer justice every morning; rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed, or my wrath will break out and burn like fire because of the evil you have done— burn with no one to quench it.

Here is what the Lord says to you who belong to David’s royal house.“‘ “Every morning do what is right and fair. Save those who have been robbed. Set them free from the people who have treated them badly. If you do not, my anger will blaze out against you. It will burn like fire because of the evil things you have done. No one will be able to put it out.

O house of David! Thus says the Lord:“‘ Execute justice in the morning, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed, lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn with none to quench it, because of your evil deeds.’”

This is what the Lord says to the dynasty of David:“‘ Give justice each morning to the people you judge! Help those who have been robbed; rescue them from their oppressors. Otherwise, my anger will burn like an unquenchable fire because of all your sins.

House of David, this is what the LORD says: Administer justice every morning, and rescue the victim of robbery from his oppressor, or my anger will flare up like fire and burn unquenchably because of your evil deeds.

O house of David! Thus says the Lord:“ Execute judgment in the morning; And deliver him who is plundered Out of the hand of the oppressor, Lest My fury go forth like fire And burn so that no one can quench it, Because of the evil of your doings.

O house of David, thus saith Jehovah, Execute justice in the morning, and deliver him that is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn so that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

House of David, this is what the Lord says: Administer justice every morning, and rescue the victim of robbery from the hand of his oppressor, or My anger will flare up like fire and burn unquenchably because of their evil deeds.

O house of David, thus saith the LORD; Execute judgment in the morning, and deliver[ him that is] spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my fury go out like fire, and burn that none can quench[ it], because of the evil of your doings.

O royal family descended from David. The Lord says:‘ See to it that people each day are judged fairly. Deliver those who have been robbed from those who oppress them. Otherwise, my wrath will blaze out against you. It will burn like a fire that cannot be put out because of the evil that you have done.

House of David, Yahweh says,‘ Execute justice in the morning, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor, lest my wrath go out like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.

Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, circumcise your hearts, you people of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, or my wrath will flare up and burn like fire because of the evil you have done— burn with no one to quench it.

‘ Hear the word of the Lord to you, king of Judah, you who sit on David’s throne— you, your officials and your people who come through these gates.This is what the Lord says: Do what is just and right. Rescue from the hand of the oppressor the one who has been robbed. Do no wrong or violence to the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow, and do not shed innocent blood in this place.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

The mighty man will become tinder and his work a spark; both will burn together, with no one to quench the fire.”

Say to the southern forest:‘ Hear the word of the Lord. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am about to set fire to you, and it will consume all your trees, both green and dry. The blazing flame will not be quenched, and every face from south to north will be scorched by it.Everyone will see that I the Lord have kindled it; it will not be quenched.’”

Through your own fault you will lose the inheritance I gave you. I will enslave you to your enemies in a land you do not know, for you have kindled my anger, and it will burn forever.”

Perhaps they will bring their petition before the Lord and will each turn from their wicked ways, for the anger and wrath pronounced against this people by the Lord are great.”

Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.

and have grown fat and sleek. Their evil deeds have no limit; they do not seek justice. They do not promote the case of the fatherless; they do not defend the just cause of the poor.

“‘ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: My anger and my wrath will be poured out on this place— on man and beast, on the trees of the field and on the crops of your land— and it will burn and not be quenched.

The Lord within her is righteous; he does no wrong. Morning by morning he dispenses his justice, and every new day he does not fail, yet the unrighteous know no shame.

“ This is what the Lord Almighty said:‘ Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.’“ But they refused to pay attention; stubbornly they turned their backs and covered their ears.

See, the storm of the Lord will burst out in wrath, a whirlwind swirling down on the heads of the wicked.

He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David

Every morning I will put to silence all the wicked in the land; I will cut off every evildoer from the city of the Lord.

The Lord has given full vent to his wrath; he has poured out his fierce anger. He kindled a fire in Zion that consumed her foundations.

“ Does it make you a king to have more and more cedar? Did not your father have food and drink? He did what was right and just, so all went well with him.He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?” declares the Lord.“ But your eyes and your heart are set only on dishonest gain, on shedding innocent blood and on oppression and extortion.”

Then Isaiah said,“ Hear now, you house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of humans? Will you try the patience of my God also?

In fierce anger he has cut off every horn of Israel. He has withdrawn his right hand at the approach of the enemy. He has burned in Jacob like a flaming fire that consumes everything around it.Like an enemy he has strung his bow; his right hand is ready. Like a foe he has slain all who were pleasing to the eye; he has poured out his wrath like fire on the tent of Daughter Zion.

And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea,‘ Grant me justice against my adversary.’“ For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself,‘ Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think,yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”

For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

Therefore this is what the Lord God Almighty says:“ Because the people have spoken these words, I will make my words in your mouth a fire and these people the wood it consumes.

If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out.

“ Son of man, the people of Israel have become dross to me; all of them are the copper, tin, iron and lead left inside a furnace. They are but the dross of silver.Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says:‘ Because you have all become dross, I will gather you into Jerusalem.As silver, copper, iron, lead and tin are gathered into a furnace to be melted with a fiery blast, so will I gather you in my anger and my wrath and put you inside the city and melt you.I will gather you and I will blow on you with my fiery wrath, and you will be melted inside her.As silver is melted in a furnace, so you will be melted inside her, and you will know that I the Lord have poured out my wrath on you.’”

So I will pour out my wrath on them and consume them with my fiery anger, bringing down on their own heads all they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

Now the house of David was told,“ Aram has allied itself with Ephraim”; so the hearts of Ahaz and his people were shaken, as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind.

Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.If you say,“ But we knew nothing about this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?

For a fire will be kindled by my wrath, one that burns down to the realm of the dead below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains.

I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and a mighty arm in furious anger and in great wrath.

David reigned over all Israel, doing what was just and right for all his people.

“ Make up your mind,” Moab says.“ Render a decision. Make your shadow like night— at high noon. Hide the fugitives, do not betray the refugees.Let the Moabite fugitives stay with you; be their shelter from the destroyer.” The oppressor will come to an end, and destruction will cease; the aggressor will vanish from the land.In love a throne will be established; in faithfulness a man will sit on it— one from the house of David— one who in judging seeks justice and speeds the cause of righteousness.

Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses, who trust in the multitude of their chariots and in the great strength of their horsemen, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel, or seek help from the Lord.Yet he too is wise and can bring disaster; he does not take back his words. He will rise up against that wicked nation, against those who help evildoers.

To stir up wrath and take revenge I put her blood on the bare rock, so that it would not be covered.“‘ Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“‘ Woe to the city of bloodshed! I, too, will pile the wood high.So heap on the wood and kindle the fire. Cook the meat well, mixing in the spices; and let the bones be charred.Then set the empty pot on the coals till it becomes hot and its copper glows, so that its impurities may be melted and its deposit burned away.It has frustrated all efforts; its heavy deposit has not been removed, not even by fire.“‘ Now your impurity is lewdness. Because I tried to cleanse you but you would not be cleansed from your impurity, you will not be clean again until my wrath against you has subsided.“‘ I the Lord have spoken. The time has come for me to act. I will not hold back; I will not have pity, nor will I relent. You will be judged according to your conduct and your actions, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

The next day Moses took his seat to serve as judge for the people, and they stood around him from morning till evening.

“ The days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.

then in my anger I will be hostile toward you, and I myself will punish you for your sins seven times over.

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the Lord’s wrath.” In the fire of his jealousy the whole earth will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end of all who live on the earth.

Woe to the land whose king was a servant and whose princes feast in the morning.Blessed is the land whose king is of noble birth and whose princes eat at a proper time— for strength and not for drunkenness.

For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help.He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death.He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.

I broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched the victims from their teeth.

“ How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice.May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness.May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor.
