The next day, when Pashhur released him from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him,“ The Lord’s name for you is not Pashhur, but Terror on Every Side.

The next day, when Pashhur finally released him, Jeremiah said,“ Pashhur, the Lord has changed your name. From now on you are to be called‘ The Man Who Lives in Terror.’

The next day, when Pashhur released Jeremiah from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him,“ The LORD does not call you Pashhur, but Terror Is on Every Side,

And it happened on the next day that Pashhur brought Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then Jeremiah said to him,“ The Lord has not called your name Pashhur, but Magor-Missabib.

And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashhur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, Jehovah hath not called thy name Pashhur, but Magor- missabib.

The next day, when Pashhur released Jeremiah from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him,“ The Lord does not call you Pashhur, but Magor-missabib,

And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The LORD hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magormissabib.

But the next day Pashhur released Jeremiah from the stocks. When he did, Jeremiah said to him,“ The LORD’s name for you is not‘ Pashhur’ but‘ Terror is Everywhere.’

On the next day, Pashhur released Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then Jeremiah said to him,“ Yahweh has not called your name Pashhur, but Magormissabib.

For I have heard the whispering of many,“ Terror on every side! Denounce him; let’s denounce him!” All my trusted friends, Watching for my fall, say:“ Perhaps he will be persuaded, so that we may prevail against him And take our revenge on him.”

Do not go out into the field, And do not walk on the road; For the enemy has a sword, Terror is on every side.

Why have I seen it? They are terrified, They are retreating, And their warriors are defeated And have taken refuge in flight, Without facing back. Terror is on every side!” Declares the Lord.

So I approached the prophetess, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. Then the Lord said to me,“ Name him Maher shalal hash baz;

You called as on the day of an appointed feast My terrors on every side; And there was no one who survived or escaped On the day of the Lord’s anger. As for those whom I brought forth healthy and whom I raised, My enemy annihilated them.”

For I have heard the slander of many, Terror is on every side; While they took counsel together against me, They schemed to take away my life.

Now Zephaniah the priest read this letter to Jeremiah the prophet.

Then go out to the Valley of Ben hinnom, which is by the entrance of the Potsherd Gate, and proclaim there the words that I tell you,

therefore, behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when this place will no longer be called Topheth or the Valley of Ben hinnom, but rather the Valley of Slaughter.

On the next day, their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem;and Annas the high priest was there, and Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and all who were of high priestly descent.When they had placed them in the center, they began to inquire,“ By what power, or in what name, have you done this?”

and after he brought them out, he said,“ Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

“ Therefore, behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when it will no longer be called Topheth, or the Valley of Ben hinnom, but the Valley of the Slaughter; for they will bury in Topheth because there is no other place.

And the Lord said to him,“ Name him Jezreel; for in just a little while I will punish the house of Jehu for the bloodshed of Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.On that day I will break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel.”Then she conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. And the Lord said to him,“ Name her Lo ruhamah, for I will no longer take pity on the house of Israel, that I would ever forgive them.But I will take pity on the house of Judah and save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, sword, battle, horses, or horsemen.”When she had weaned Lo ruhamah, she conceived and gave birth to a son.And the Lord said,“ Name him Lo ammi, because you are not My people, and I am not your God.”

Then he said,“ Your name shall no longer be Jacob, but Israel; for you have contended with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

Then God said to Abraham,“ As for your wife Sarai, you shall not call her by the name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.

Now when day came, the chief magistrates sent their officers, saying,“ Release those men.”And the jailer reported these words to Paul, saying,“ The chief magistrates have sent word that you be released. So come out now and go in peace.”But Paul said to them,“ After beating us in public without due process— men who are Romans— they threw us into prison; and now they are releasing us secretly? No indeed! On the contrary, let them come in person and lead us out.”The officers reported these words to the chief magistrates. And they became fearful when they heard that they were Romans,and they came and pleaded with them, and when they had led them out, they repeatedly asked them to leave the city.
