“ Have you not observed what these people have asserted, saying,‘ The two families which the Lord chose, He has rejected them’? So they despise My people as no longer being a nation in their sight.

Listen and pay attention, do not be haughty; For the Lord has spoken.

and say,‘ Hear the word of the Lord, you kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. This is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel says:“ Behold I am going to bring a disaster upon this place, at which the ears of everyone that hears of it will tingle.

“ Listen to Me, you who pursue righteousness, Who seek the Lord: Look to the rock from which you were cut, And to the quarry from which you were dug.Look to Abraham your father And to Sarah who gave birth to you in pain; When he was only one I called him, Then I blessed him and multiplied him.”Indeed, the Lord will comfort Zion; He will comfort all her ruins. And He will make her wilderness like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, Thanksgiving and the sound of a melody.“ Pay attention to Me, My people, And listen to Me, My nation; For a law will go out from Me, And I will bring My justice as a light of the peoples.

Listen to the word of the Lord, you sons of Israel, Because the Lord has a case against the inhabitants of the land, For there is no faithfulness, nor loyalty, Nor knowledge of God in the land.

‘ Now hear this, you foolish and senseless people, Who have eyes but do not see, Who have ears but do not hear.

“ At that time,” declares the Lord,“ I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people.”

Yet hear the word of the Lord, Zedekiah king of Judah! This is what the Lord says concerning you:‘ You will not die by the sword.

“ Stand at the gate of the Lord’s house and proclaim there this word, and say,‘ Hear the word of the Lord, all you of Judah, who enter by these gates to worship the Lord!’ ”
