願主使其子亡於饑、其眾死於刃、其妻為嫠而無子、壯男死於疫癘、少者於戰為鋒刃所殺、

So give their children over to famine; hand them over to the power of the sword. Let their wives be made childless and widows; let their men be put to death, their young men slain by the sword in battle.

So let their children die of hunger. Let my enemies be killed in war. Let their wives lose their children and husbands. Let their men be put to death. Let their young men be killed in battle.

Let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor.Let there be no one to extend kindness to him, neither let there be anyone to have pity on his fatherless children.Let his posterity be cut off. In the generation following let their name be blotted out.Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered by Yahweh. Don’t let the sin of his mother be blotted out.Let them be before Yahweh continually, that he may cut off their memory from the earth;because he didn’t remember to show kindness, but persecuted the poor and needy man, the broken in heart, to kill them.Yes, he loved cursing, and it came to him. He didn’t delight in blessing, and it was far from him.He clothed himself also with cursing as with his garment. It came into his inward parts like water, like oil into his bones.Let it be to him as the clothing with which he covers himself, for the belt that is always around him.This is the reward of my adversaries from Yahweh, of those who speak evil against my soul.

and my wrath will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

For death has come up into our windows. It has entered into our palaces to cut off the children from outside, and the young men from the streets.

We are orphans and fatherless. Our mothers are as widows.

For Yahweh says concerning the sons and concerning the daughters who are born in this place, and concerning their mothers who bore them, and concerning their fathers who became their father in this land:“ They will die grievous deaths. They will not be lamented, neither will they be buried. They will be as dung on the surface of the ground. They will be consumed by the sword and by famine. Their dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.”

Their widows are increased more than the sand of the seas. I have brought on them against the mother of the young men a destroyer at noonday. I have caused anguish and terrors to fall on her suddenly.

Outside the sword will bereave, and in the rooms, terror on both young man and virgin, the nursing infant with the gray- haired man.

“ I sent plagues among you like I did Egypt. I have slain your young men with the sword, and have carried away your horses; and I filled your nostrils with the stench of your camp, yet you haven’t returned to me,” says Yahweh.

But, Yahweh of Armies, who judges righteously, who tests the heart and the mind, I will see your vengeance on them; for to you I have revealed my cause.“ Therefore Yahweh says concerning the men of Anathoth, who seek your life, saying,‘ You shall not prophesy in Yahweh’s name, that you not die by our hand;’therefore Yahweh of Armies says,‘ Behold, I will punish them. The young men will die by the sword. Their sons and their daughters will die by famine.There will be no remnant to them, for I will bring evil on the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.’”

Therefore he brought on them the king of the Chaldeans, who killed their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion on young man or virgin, old man or gray- headed. He gave them all into his hand.

But Yahweh is with me as an awesome mighty one. Therefore my persecutors will stumble, and they won’t prevail. They will be utterly disappointed, because they have not dealt wisely, even with an everlasting dishonor which will never be forgotten.But Yahweh of Armies, who tests the righteous, who sees the heart and the mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for I have revealed my cause to you.

Now Pashhur, the son of Immer the priest, who was chief officer in Yahweh’s house, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things.Then Pashhur struck Jeremiah the prophet and put him in the stocks that were in the upper gate of Benjamin, which was in Yahweh’s house.On the next day, Pashhur released Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then Jeremiah said to him,“ Yahweh has not called your name Pashhur, but Magormissabib.For Yahweh says,‘ Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends. They will fall by the sword of their enemies, and your eyes will see it. I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will carry them captive to Babylon, and will kill them with the sword.Moreover I will give all the riches of this city, and all its gains, and all its precious things, yes, I will give all the treasures of the kings of Judah into the hand of their enemies. They will make them captives, take them, and carry them to Babylon.You, Pashhur, and all who dwell in your house will go into captivity. You will come to Babylon, and there you will die, and there you will be buried, you, and all your friends, to whom you have prophesied falsely.’”

Alexander, the coppersmith, did much evil to me. The Lord will repay him according to his deeds,

But you, Yahweh, know me. You see me, and test my heart toward you. Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of slaughter.

It will happen, when they ask you,‘ Where shall we go out?’ then you shall tell them,‘ Yahweh says:“ Such as are for death, to death; such as are for the sword, to the sword; such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for captivity, to captivity.”’“ I will appoint over them four kinds,” says Yahweh:“ the sword to kill, the dogs to tear, the birds of the sky, and the animals of the earth, to devour and to destroy.
