他們就說：『來吧，我們來設計謀害耶利米；因為祭司有禮節規矩，智慧人有謀略，神言人有話語，都不能斷絕掉。來吧，我們用口舌攻擊他，他的甚麼話、我們都別理它。』

他们就说：“来吧！我们可以设计谋害耶利米；因为我们有祭司讲律法，智慧人设谋略，先知说预言，都不能断绝。来吧！我们可以用舌头击打他，不要理会他的一切话。”

他们说：“来吧！让我们设计谋害耶利米；因为我们有祭司讲律法，有智慧人设谋略，有先知说预言，都未曾断绝。来吧！让我们用舌头攻击他，不要理他一切的话。”

他们说：“来！我们设计对付耶利米吧，反正我们有祭司教导律法，有智者出谋划策，有先知传讲预言。来吧！我们抨击他，不要理会他的话。”

他们说：“来吧！我们来设计对付耶利米；因为祭司的律法、智慧人的谋略、先知的话都不会断绝。来吧！我们用舌头攻击他，不理会他的一切话。”

彼曰、其來、爾我同謀以攻耶利米、因法律不絕於祭司、謀畧不絕於哲人、預言不絕於先知、來哉、我儕以舌攻之、勿聽其言、○

人曰、祭司有律例、智士有箴規、先知有預言、如耶利米其言不可信、予當批其頰、而謀害之。

彼眾曰、我儕不如設謀、坑害耶利米、攻之以詞、勿聽其所言、蓋祭司非失律法、智者非缺謀略、先知非無預言、

They said,“ Come, let’s make plans against Jeremiah; for the teaching of the law by the priest will not cease, nor will counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophets. So come, let’s attack him with our tongues and pay no attention to anything he says.”

They said,“ Come on. Let’s make plans against Jeremiah. We’ll still have priests to teach us the law. We’ll always have wise people to give us advice. We’ll have prophets to bring us messages from the Lord. So come on. Let’s speak out against Jeremiah. We shouldn’t pay any attention to what he says.”

Then they said,“ Come, let us make plots against Jeremiah, for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not pay attention to any of his words.”

Then the people said,“ Come on, let’s plot a way to stop Jeremiah. We have plenty of priests and wise men and prophets. We don’t need him to teach the word and give us advice and prophecies. Let’s spread rumors about him and ignore what he says.”

Then certain ones said,“ Come, let’s make plans against Jeremiah, for instruction will never be lost from the priest, or counsel from the wise, or a word from the prophet. Come, let’s denounce him and pay no attention to all his words.”

Then they said,“ Come and let’s devise plans against Jeremiah. Certainly the Law is not going to be lost by the priest, nor advice by the wise, nor the divine word by the prophet! Come, and let’s strike at him with our tongue, and let’s pay no attention to any of his words.”

Then they said,“ Come and let us devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come and let us attack him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.”

Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

Then certain ones said,“ Come, let’s make plans against Jeremiah, for instruction will never be lost from the priest, or counsel from the wise, or an oracle from the prophet. Come, let’s denounce him and pay no attention to all his words.”

Then said they, Come, and let us devise devices against Jeremiah; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us smite him with the tongue, and let us not give heed to any of his words.

Then some people said,“ Come on! Let us consider how to deal with Jeremiah! There will still be priests to instruct us, wise men to give us advice, and prophets to declare God’s word. Come on! Let’s bring charges against him and get rid of him! Then we will not need to pay attention to anything he says.”

Then they said,“ Come! Let’s devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law won’t perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let’s strike him with the tongue, and let’s not give heed to any of his words.”

行詭詐的人哪，你終日圖謀着毁滅；你的舌頭就像磨快的剃刀。

我卻像柔順的羊羔，被牽到屠殺之地。我並不知道他們設計謀是要害死我；他們說：『我們來把樹連樹汁都滅掉，將他從活人之地剪除掉，使他的名不再被記念。』

因為他們在你身上展開危害的企圖；他們設了計謀，卻不能成功。

因為祭司嘴裏應當保存着知識，人也應該從他口中尋求禮節規矩，因為他是萬軍之永恆主的使者。

他們使舌頭尖銳如刀，比準了他們的箭，就是苦毒的話，

生死都在舌頭權下；愛鼓弄舌頭的必喫舌頭結的果子。

我躺臥於獅子中間，就是一些氣燄能吞人的：他們的牙齒是矛、是箭；他們的舌頭是快刀。

有禍啊那些在床上圖謀奸惡、暗中作壞事的！因為他們手中有權力、天一亮就實行出來。他們貪愛田地、就強奪，貪愛房屋、便奪取；他們欺壓人和人的家屬，搾取人和人的產業。故此永恆主這麼說：看吧，我在對這家族籌劃負軛之苦楚，你們不能從其下縮回脖子，也不能昂首而行的；因為這時勢很險惡。

祭司都不查問說：「永恆主在哪裏？」那些處理禮節規矩的都不認識我，牧民者都悖逆了我；神言人藉着巴力去傳神言，隨從着無益的神。

押沙龍和以色列眾人都說：『亞基人戶篩的計謀比亞希多弗的計謀更好。』這是因為永恆主命定要破壞亞希多弗的好計謀，為要降災禍於押沙龍的。

那你就要對他們說：「永恆主這麼說：看吧！我必使這地所有的居民，使那坐大衛寶座的列王、祭司和神言人、以及耶路撒冷所有的居民、都充滿了沉醉。我必使他們彼此相碰，就是父親跟兒子一概相碰，永恆主發神諭說；我必不顧惜，不可憐，不憐憫，而不滅絕他們。」』

他在智慧人自己的狡猾中捉住他們，使邪曲人的計謀迅速地失敗。

現在你要對猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民說：「永恆主這麼說：看哪，我正在作出災禍來攻擊你們，擬定計畫來刑罰你們呢；你們要回轉、各人離開他的壞行徑，改正你們所行所作的。」

基拿拿的兒子西底家走近前來，打米該雅的嘴巴、說：『永恆主的靈從哪裏離開了我、去和你說話呢？』

棍徒——他的棍術是壞事；他籌劃着惡計，用虛假的甘言蜜語去毁滅困苦人，而竟在貧窮人講公理之時。

何沙雅的兒子亞撒利雅和加利亞的兒子約哈難跟一切傲慢悖逆的人就對耶利米說：『你說了假話：永恆主我們的上帝並沒有差遣你來說：「你們不可進埃及去寄居在那裏」呀，

有人告訴大衛說：『亞希多弗也在反叛的人中間、同押沙龍在一起呢。』大衛就說：『永恆主啊，求你使亞希多弗的計謀變為愚拙。』

又使你們可以將永恆主經摩西手所告訴以色列人的一切律例、指教他們。』

於是永恆主對我說：『那些神言人是冒我名傳虛假為神言的；我並沒有差遣他們，沒有吩咐他們，也沒有對他們說話；他們向你們發神言狂的乃是虛假的異象、無用的占卜、和他們自己心裏的詭詐。因此永恆主這麼說：論到那些冒我名來傳講的神言人，我沒有差遣他們，而他們還說「這地必不會遭遇刀劍和饑荒」的，那些神言人自己倒要被刀劍和饑荒滅絕呢。至於那些聽他們傳神言的人民、也必因饑荒和刀劍而被拋棄在耶路撒冷街上，沒有人給埋葬：他們本身、連妻子、帶兒女、都不得葬埋：我必將他們作的壞事倒在他們身上。

他們否認永恆主，說：「他沒有甚麼；必沒有災禍會臨到我們；刀劍和饑荒、我們也必不會見到。神言人必成了風；主的話並不在他們裏面；他們所遭受的、必是這樣。」』

有一個律法師回答耶穌說：『先生，你說這些話，竟把我們也侮辱了。』

『萬軍之永恆主以色列之上帝這麼說：你曾用自己的名寄信給在耶路撒冷的眾民，給祭司瑪西雅的兒子西番雅、和眾祭司說：「永恆主已經立了你西番雅為祭司來代替祭司耶何耶大，使你做永恆主殿中的監督，好將一切瘋狂的、發神言狂的人用枷枷住，用脖子鎖鎖住。現在呢、亞拿突人耶利米自專地向你們發神言，你們為甚麼沒有責備他呢？因為他寄信給我們在巴比倫的人說：『被擄的時期是會延長很久的；你們要建造房屋來居住，要栽種園子來喫它們的果實。』」』祭司西番雅把這信念給神言人耶利米聽。

法利賽人就回答他們說：『難道連你們也受了迷惑？難道議員們或法利賽人中也有信他的？至於這不懂律法的羣眾呢，他們只是被咒詛的罷了。』

同耶穌在那裏的法利賽人、有的聽見了這些話，就對耶穌說：『難道連我們也瞎了眼麼？』

我們一定要實行我們口中所說出的一切話：向天后燻祭，澆奠祭，按着我們和我們列祖、我們的王和首領在猶大城市和耶路撒冷街上素常所行的一樣；那時我們喫飽飯，享福樂，不見災禍呀。

祭司和神言人對首領和眾民說：『這人真是該死，因為他傳神言攻擊這城，正如你們親耳聽見的。』
