我所諭者、及使其敬聽我言、我必為其上帝、彼將為我民、如遵我命、必獲享通。爾祖不傾耳以聽、縱其私欲、輒蹈愆尤、退縮不前。自爾祖出埃及之時、迄於今日、我數遣諸僕先知、訓迪爾眾、爾不傾耳以聽、仍強厥項、較祖尤甚。上帝告先知曰、爾雖有命、民不聽從、爾雖招徠、民不應命。故當切指之曰、斯民不聽其上帝耶和華之命、不受訓誨、不言真實、

爾窺察厥地、歷四十日、今罰爾罪、年數等其日數、必至四十載而後已、使知我棄爾焉。
