They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

四面環溪、灌溉有資、故柯幹甚巨、高大無比、林叢諸木、無不得水之利、既蒙灌溉、超於群木、枝繁葉茂、長柯森發、飛鳥結巢於其枝、走獸生產於其蔭、大國之民、居於下、亦受其庇。根在水濱、故枝葉葱蒨、長柯森發、上帝囿之柏香木、不能出其上、松樹不及其長條、楓樹不及其弱幹、上帝囿中、眾木雖美、不得與之頡頏、枝葉向榮、葱蒨可悅、我使之然、上帝囿中諸木、亦嫉其高、耶和華曰、彼譬喬木、其葉蓁蓁、心志驕泰、

河濱左右、結果之樹、其葉經歲不凋、其果取之不竭、因水出於聖所、月必有果、果可為食、葉堪入藥。

爾使我崢嶸、如兕之角、爾沐我以膏、維新維潔兮、仇敵毀傷、惡人敗亡、使我目睹之、耳聞之兮。義者發萌、譬彼棗樹、譬彼利巴嫩之柏香木兮、凡彼卉木、植於我上帝耶和華之場帷、枝葉葱蘢兮。歷年雖久、結實依然、青青向榮兮、我上帝耶和華至義、罔不秉公、以此可徵兮。

惡者惟草、雖暴以烈日、亦復蔓延於圃、

耶利米以旱乾之事、得耶和華默示、播告於眾、曰、猶大國懷憂、邑民衰絰、哀慘靡已、耶路撒冷號呼、升聞於上。長者遣少者汲水、井泉枯竭、挈其空瓶、含羞蒙首而歸。遍地無雨、土壤燥裂、耕者抱愧、而蒙厥首。郊原無草、麀產子而遺之。野驢立於童山、噏氣若野犬、無草而目盲。
