This is what the LORD says: Watch yourselves; do not pick up a load and bring it in through Jerusalem’s gates on the Sabbath day.

耶和华如此说：你们要谨慎，不要在安息日担什么担子进入耶路撒冷的各门；

耶和华说，如果你们想保住性命，就要小心，不要在安息日带货物进耶路撒冷的城门，

耶和华这样说：为了自己的性命，你们要谨慎，不可在安息日挑担子，不可挑进耶路撒冷的城门。

耶和華如此說：你們要謹慎，不要在安息日擔甚麼擔子進入耶路撒冷的各門；

耶和華這樣說：為了自己的性命，你們要謹慎，不可在安息日挑擔子，不可挑進耶路撒冷的城門。

永恆主這麼說：為了自己性命的緣故、你們要謹慎，不可在安息之日挑甚麼擔子，或帶進耶路撒冷的各門。

耶和華曰、爾其慎旃、於安息日、毋荷擔以入耶路撒冷門、

耶和華曰、爾當謹恪、安息日勿負荷入耶路撒冷邑門。

主如是云、爾當謹恪、安息日勿負荷入耶路撒冷邑門、

This is what the Lord says: Be careful not to carry a load on the Sabbath day or bring it through the gates of Jerusalem.

The Lord says,“ Make sure you do not carry a load on the Sabbath day. Do not bring it through the gates of Jerusalem.

Thus says the Lord: Take care for the sake of your lives, and do not bear a burden on the Sabbath day or bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem.

This is what the Lord says: Listen to my warning! Stop carrying on your trade at Jerusalem’s gates on the Sabbath day.

This is what the Lord says:“ Take care for yourselves, and do not carry any load on the Sabbath day or bring anything in through the gates of Jerusalem.

Thus says the Lord:“ Take heed to yourselves, and bear no burden on the Sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem;

This is what the Lord says: Watch yourselves; do not pick up a load and bring it in through the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day.

The LORD says,‘ Be very careful if you value your lives! Do not carry any loads in through the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day.

Yahweh says,“ Be careful, and bear no burden on the Sabbath day, nor bring it in by the gates of Jerusalem.

While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, Aaron, and the entire community.They placed him in custody because it had not been decided what should be done to him.Then the LORD told Moses,“ The man is to be put to death. The entire community is to stone him outside the camp.”So the entire community brought him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD had commanded Moses.

At that time I saw people in Judah treading winepresses on the Sabbath. They were also bringing in stores of grain and loading them on donkeys, along with wine, grapes, and figs. All kinds of goods were being brought to Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. So I warned them against selling food on that day.The Tyrians living there were importing fish and all kinds of merchandise and selling them on the Sabbath to the people of Judah in Jerusalem.I rebuked the nobles of Judah and said to them,“ What is this evil you are doing— profaning the Sabbath day?Didn’t your ancestors do the same, so that our God brought all this disaster on us and on this city? And now you are rekindling his anger against Israel by profaning the Sabbath!”When shadows began to fall on the city gates of Jerusalem just before the Sabbath, I gave orders that the city gates be closed and not opened until after the Sabbath. I posted some of my men at the gates, so that no goods could enter during the Sabbath day.Once or twice the merchants and those who sell all kinds of goods camped outside Jerusalem,but I warned them,“ Why are you camping in front of the wall? If you do it again, I’ll use force against you.” After that they did not come again on the Sabbath.

And he said to them,“ Pay attention to what you hear. By the measure you use, it will be measured to you— and more will be added to you.

“ Only be on your guard and diligently watch yourselves, so that you don’t forget the things your eyes have seen and so that they don’t slip from your mind as long as you live. Teach them to your children and your grandchildren.

Be careful not to forget the covenant of the LORD your God that he made with you, and make an idol for yourselves in the shape of anything he has forbidden you.

“ Diligently watch yourselves— because you did not see any form on the day the LORD spoke to you out of the fire at Horeb—

Instantly the man got well, picked up his mat, and started to walk. Now that day was the Sabbath,and so the Jews said to the man who had been healed,“ This is the Sabbath. The law prohibits you from picking up your mat.”He replied,“ The man who made me well told me,‘ Pick up your mat and walk.’”“ Who is this man who told you,‘ Pick up your mat and walk’?” they asked.

Do not carry a load out of your houses on the Sabbath day or do any work, but keep the Sabbath day holy, just as I commanded your ancestors.They wouldn’t listen or pay attention but became obstinate, not listening or accepting discipline.“‘ However, if you listen to me— this is the LORD’s declaration— and do not bring loads through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but keep the Sabbath day holy and do no work on it,kings and princes will enter through the gates of this city. They will sit on the throne of David; they will ride in chariots and on horses with their officials, the men of Judah, and the residents of Jerusalem. This city will be inhabited forever.Then people will come from the cities of Judah and from the area around Jerusalem, from the land of Benjamin and from the Judean foothills, from the hill country and from the Negev bringing burnt offerings and sacrifices, grain offerings and frankincense, and thanksgiving sacrifices to the house of the LORD.But if you do not listen to me to keep the Sabbath day holy by not carrying a load while entering the gates of Jerusalem on the Sabbath day, I will set fire to its gates, and it will consume the citadels of Jerusalem and not be extinguished.’”

So diligently watch yourselves! Love the LORD your God!

Therefore take care how you listen. For whoever has, more will be given to him; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away from him.”

Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and defiling many.And make sure that there isn’t any immoral or irreverent person like Esau, who sold his birthright in exchange for a single meal.

Be careful that you are not enticed to turn aside, serve, and bow in worship to other gods.

Guard your heart above all else, for it is the source of life.

For this reason, we must pay attention all the more to what we have heard, so that we will not drift away.For if the message spoken through angels was legally binding and every transgression and disobedience received a just punishment,how will we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? This salvation had its beginning when it was spoken of by the Lord, and it was confirmed to us by those who heard him.

Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood.
