No one will offer food to comfort those who mourn for the dead— not even for a father or a mother— nor will anyone give them a drink to console them.

我守喪的時候，沒有吃這聖物，不潔淨的時候，也沒有拿出來，又沒有把它獻給死人。我聽從了耶和華－我上帝的話，都照你一切所吩咐的做了。

可以把烈酒給將亡的人喝，把酒給心裏愁苦的人喝，讓他喝了，就忘記他的貧窮，不再記得他的苦楚。

約伯的兄弟、姊妹，和以前所認識的人都來到他那裏，在他家裏跟他一同吃飯。他們因耶和華所降於他的一切災禍，都為他悲傷，安慰他。每人送他一塊可錫塔和一個金環。
