This is what the Lord says:“ Do not go to funerals to mourn and show sympathy for these people, for I have removed my protection and peace from them. I have taken away my unfailing love and my mercy.

耶和華曰、勿入喪室、勿往弔、勿為之哀哭、蓋我於斯民、奪我平康、收我仁慈矜憫、耶和華言之矣、

耶和華又曰、我不矜恤斯民、不使平康、故勿入室哭之、亦勿往弔、

主如是云、必入喪家、勿往哀哭弔唁、我不使斯民復享平康、不復施恩惠、發憐憫、此乃主所言、

For this is what the Lord says:“ Do not enter a house where there is a funeral meal; do not go to mourn or show sympathy, because I have withdrawn my blessing, my love and my pity from this people,” declares the Lord.

The Lord says,“ Jeremiah, suppose a meal is being served because someone has died. Do not enter any house where that is happening. Do not go there to mourn or to comfort the family. I will not bless these people anymore. I have taken my love and pity away from them,” announces the Lord.

“ For thus says the Lord: Do not enter the house of mourning, or go to lament or grieve for them, for I have taken away my peace from this people, my steadfast love and mercy, declares the Lord.

“ For this is what the LORD says: Don’t enter a house where a mourning feast is taking place. Don’t go to lament or sympathize with them, for I have removed my peace from these people as well as my faithful love and compassion.” This is the LORD’s declaration.

For this is what the Lord says:“ Do not enter a house of mourning, or go to mourn or to console them; for I have withdrawn My peace from this people,” declares the Lord,“ and My favor and compassion.

For thus says the Lord:“ Do not enter the house of mourning, nor go to lament or bemoan them; for I have taken away My peace from this people,” says the Lord,“ lovingkindness and mercies.

For thus saith Jehovah, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament, neither bemoan them; for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith Jehovah, even lovingkindness and tender mercies.

“ For this is what the Lord says: Don’t enter a house where a mourning feast is taking place. Don’t go to lament or sympathize with them, for I have removed My peace from these people”— this is the Lord’s declaration—“ as well as My faithful love and compassion.

For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD,[ even] lovingkindness and mercies.

“ Moreover I, the LORD, tell you:‘ Do not go into a house where they are having a funeral meal. Do not go there to mourn and express your sorrow for them. For I have stopped showing them my good favor, my love, and my compassion. I, the LORD, so affirm it!

For Yahweh says,“ Don’t enter into the house of mourning. Don’t go to lament. Don’t bemoan them, for I have taken away my peace from this people,” says Yahweh,“ even loving kindness and tender mercies.

“ Son of man, with one blow I will take away your dearest treasure. Yet you must not show any sorrow at her death. Do not weep; let there be no tears.Groan silently, but let there be no wailing at her grave. Do not uncover your head or take off your sandals. Do not perform the usual rituals of mourning or accept any food brought to you by consoling friends.”So I proclaimed this to the people the next morning, and in the evening my wife died. The next morning I did everything I had been told to do.Then the people asked,“ What does all this mean? What are you trying to tell us?”So I said to them,“ A message came to me from the Lord,and I was told to give this message to the people of Israel. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will defile my Temple, the source of your security and pride, the place your heart delights in. Your sons and daughters whom you left behind in Judah will be slaughtered by the sword.Then you will do as Ezekiel has done. You will not mourn in public or console yourselves by eating the food brought by friends.Your heads will remain covered, and your sandals will not be taken off. You will not mourn or weep, but you will waste away because of your sins. You will groan among yourselves for all the evil you have done.

The people are like the dead branches of a tree, broken off and used for kindling beneath the cooking pots. Israel is a foolish and stupid nation, for its people have turned away from God. Therefore, the one who made them will show them no pity or mercy.

Then the Lord said to me,“ Even if Moses and Samuel stood before me pleading for these people, I wouldn’t help them. Away with them! Get them out of my sight!And if they say to you,‘ But where can we go?’ tell them,‘ This is what the Lord says:“‘ Those who are destined for death, to death; those who are destined for war, to war; those who are destined for famine, to famine; those who are destined for captivity, to captivity.’“ I will send four kinds of destroyers against them,” says the Lord.“ I will send the sword to kill, the dogs to drag away, the vultures to devour, and the wild animals to finish up what is left.Because of the wicked things Manasseh son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, did in Jerusalem, I will make my people an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

Then my anger will blaze forth against them. I will abandon them, hiding my face from them, and they will be devoured. Terrible trouble will come down on them, and on that day they will say,‘ These disasters have come down on us because God is no longer among us!’

Before the work on the Temple began, there were no jobs and no money to hire people or animals. No traveler was safe from the enemy, for there were enemies on all sides. I had turned everyone against each other.

Then another horse appeared, a red one. Its rider was given a mighty sword and the authority to take peace from the earth. And there was war and slaughter everywhere.

Both the great and the lowly will die in this land. No one will bury them or mourn for them. Their friends will not cut themselves in sorrow or shave their heads in sadness.No one will offer a meal to comfort those who mourn for the dead— not even at the death of a mother or father. No one will send a cup of wine to console them.

“ During those dark times, it was not safe to travel. Problems troubled the people of every land.Nation fought against nation, and city against city, for God was troubling them with every kind of problem.
