我之痛苦、奚久不已、我之創傷、何為不瘳、爾之於我、果如無常之溪、無水之井乎、○

予創傷未痊、殘缺未醫、曷故。爾之待我、若泉之忽竭、使人絕望、曷故。

我之痛楚、恆久不息、我之創傷甚危、不得醫痊何故、主使我失望、若人望得水、而泉源忽竭、

Why is my pain unending and my wound grievous and incurable? You are to me like a deceptive brook, like a spring that fails.

Why does my pain never end? Why is my wound so deep? Why can’t I ever get well? To me you are like a stream that runs dry. You are like a spring that doesn’t have any water.

Why is my pain unceasing, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will you be to me like a deceitful brook, like waters that fail?

Why then does my suffering continue? Why is my wound so incurable? Your help seems as uncertain as a seasonal brook, like a spring that has gone dry.”

Why has my pain become unending, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? You truly have become like a mirage to me— water that is not reliable.

Why has my pain been endless And my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Will You indeed be to me like a deceptive stream With water that is unreliable?

Why must I continually suffer such painful anguish? Why must I endure the sting of their insults like an incurable wound? Will you let me down when I need you like a brook one goes to for water, but that cannot be relied on?”

Why do you cry over your injury? Your pain is incurable. For the greatness of your iniquity, because your sins have increased, I have done these things to you.

For her wounds are incurable; for it has come even to Judah. It reaches to the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.

Notwithstanding my right I am considered a liar. My wound is incurable, though I am without disobedience.’

Yahweh, you have persuaded me, and I was persuaded. You are stronger than I, and have prevailed. I have become a laughingstock all day. Everyone mocks me.

For Yahweh says,“ Your hurt is incurable. Your wound is grievous.

Their nobles send their little ones to the waters. They come to the cisterns, and find no water. They return with their vessels empty. They are disappointed and confounded, and cover their heads.

For, behold, I have made you today a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against its princes, against its priests, and against the people of the land.They will fight against you, but they will not prevail against you; for I am with you”, says Yahweh,“ to rescue you.”

Have you utterly rejected Judah? Has your soul loathed Zion? Why have you struck us, and there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a time of healing, and behold, dismay!

My soul is also in great anguish. But you, Yahweh— how long?

My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away;Which are black by reason of the ice, in which the snow hides itself.In the dry season, they vanish. When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.The caravans that travel beside them turn away. They go up into the waste, and perish.The caravans of Tema looked. The companies of Sheba waited for them.They were distressed because they were confident. They came there, and were confounded.

I am the man who has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.Surely he turns his hand against me again and again all day long.He has made my flesh and my skin old. He has broken my bones.He has built against me, and surrounded me with bitterness and hardship.He has made me dwell in dark places, as those who have been long dead.He has walled me about, so that I can’t go out. He has made my chain heavy.Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.He has walled up my ways with cut stone. He has made my paths crooked.He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in secret places.He has turned away my ways, and pulled me in pieces. He has made me desolate.He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my kidneys.I have become a derision to all my people, and their song all day long.He has filled me with bitterness. He has stuffed me with wormwood.He has also broken my teeth with gravel. He has covered me with ashes.You have removed my soul far away from peace. I forgot prosperity.I said,“ My strength has perished, along with my expectation from Yahweh.”

How long, Yahweh? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? How long shall my enemy triumph over me?Behold, and answer me, Yahweh, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;
