不要聽希西迦的話。亞述王說，『你們要跟我講和，出來歸順我，你們就可以吃自己葡萄樹和無花果樹的果子，喝自己井裡的水。

結果希望化為泡影，到了那裡大失所望。

「以色列人啊，你們和你們的君王、官長、祭司和先知必蒙羞，如同被擒的盜賊。你們認木頭為父，認石頭為母。你們不是面向我而是背對我，危難時卻向我求救。

願誣告我的人滿面羞辱，無地自容。

天不下雨，土地乾裂，農夫沮喪地抱著頭。

田野的走獸向你呼求，因為溪水已經枯乾，火也燒盡了曠野的草場。

對他說：「我們去各地的水泉和河谷，也許可以找到草救活騾馬，不致喪失牲畜。」於是，亞哈和俄巴底分頭到不同地區尋找。

但耶和華與我同在，祂像勇猛的戰士。迫害我的人必一敗塗地，羞愧難當，留下永遠的恥辱。

之後，末底改回到宮門那裡，哈曼卻悲傷地蒙著頭匆匆回家去了。
