錫安的城門必悲傷、哀哭，錫安必空空地坐在地上。

那些沒有死的人都飽受毒瘡的折磨，城中的哭喊聲上達於天。

所以我要使他們災難臨頭，無法逃脫，任他們高聲呼求，我也不聽。這是耶和華說的。

祂說，『我曾呼喚他們，他們不聽；將來他們呼求我，我也不聽。

現在，他們的面目比煤炭還黑，走在街上無人認得。他們骨瘦如柴，乾如枯木。死於刀下的勝過死於饑餓的，後者因田間缺糧而活活餓死。

錫安的城門陷入地中，主摧毀、砍斷她的門閂。她的君王和首領流落異鄉，律法不復存在，她的先知得不到從耶和華而來的異象。

當你使敵軍突襲他們時，願他們家中傳出哭喊聲，因為他們挖陷阱要捕捉我，設圈套要絆我的腳。

「明天這個時候，我會從便雅憫境內差遣一個人到你這裡，你要膏立他做我以色列子民的首領，他會從非利士人手中把我的子民拯救出來，因為我已聽到我子民的呼求，我要施恩給他們。」

地上一片荒涼，黎巴嫩的樹木枯乾，沙崙好像曠野，巴珊和迦密的樹葉凋零。

田園荒廢，遍地淒涼，五穀盡毀，再也沒有新酒和油了。

萬軍之耶和華的葡萄園就是以色列，祂所喜愛的葡萄樹就是猶大人。祂希望看到公平，卻只看見殺戮；指望看到公義，卻只聽見冤聲。

大地必衰殘枯乾，世界必衰敗荒涼，世上的權貴也必敗落。

大地哀慟、田野的植物枯槁要到何時呢？由於這地方居民的罪惡，野獸和飛鳥都滅絕了。他們說：「上帝看不見我們的行為。」

我為摩押感到悲哀。她的人民逃難到瑣珥和伊基拉·施利施亞。他們上到魯希斜坡，邊走邊哭，在去何羅念的路上為自己的不幸哀哭。

以致窮人的呼求傳到祂那裡，祂也聽見了困苦者的呼求。

我們因饑餓而發熱，皮膚熱如烤爐。

上帝聽見他們的哀聲，顧念從前跟亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所立的約，

葡萄樹枯萎，新酒停產，歡樂的人都發出悲歎。

因此，地要悲哀，天要昏暗，因為我言出必行，決不反悔。」

所以，這片土地要哀鳴，所有的居民都要消亡，田間的野獸、空中的飛鳥、水裡的魚類也要滅絕。」

牠們一來，百姓就驚慌失措，面如死灰。
