爾舉目而觀、見敵來自北方、昔所付爾之群眾、即爾至美之群羊、而今安在、

Look up and see those who are coming from the north. Where is the flock that was entrusted to you, the sheep of which you boasted?

Jerusalem, look up! Your enemies are coming from the north. Where is the flock you were supposed to take care of? Where are the sheep you were so proud of?

“ Lift up your eyes and see those who come from the north. Where is the flock that was given you, your beautiful flock?

Open up your eyes and see the armies marching down from the north! Where is your flock— your beautiful flock— that he gave you to care for?

Look up and see those coming from the north. Where is the flock entrusted to you, the sheep that were your pride?

“ Raise your eyes and see Those coming from the north. Where is the flock that was given you, Your beautiful sheep?

Lift up your eyes and see Those who come from the north. Where is the flock that was given to you, Your beautiful sheep?

Then I said,“ Look up, Jerusalem, and see the enemy that is coming from the north. Where now is the flock of people that were entrusted to your care? Where now are the‘ sheep’ that you take such pride in?

Lift up your eyes, and see those who come from the north. Where is the flock that was given to you, your beautiful flock?

永恆主這麼說：『看吧，必有一族之民從北方之地而來，必有一個大國被激動，從地之極處來到。

因為你看吧，我在激起迦勒底人、那殘酷暴躁的國、那向廣大地區進發、佔據不屬自己住處的。

因此永恆主以色列的上帝為了斥責那些牧養他人民的牧民者就這麼說：『你們、使我的羊羣四散，而趕逐他們，並沒有巡察而看顧他們。看吧，我必鑒察你們行為之敗壞而察罰你們：這是永恆主發神諭說的。

永恆主對我說：『必有災禍從北方爆發，來到這地所有的居民。

所以在今天這日子、我確實地告訴你們，你們眾人若流血而滅亡，我乾淨無罪！因為上帝全部的計畫、我並沒有退縮而不傳告你們。聖靈在全羣中立你們做監督，你們要關顧到自己、以及全羣，牧養主的教會，就是他用自己的血所取得來的。我知道我離開了以後，必有兇暴的豺狼要進入你們中間，不顧惜羊羣。

聽啊，有風聲！看哪，敵人來了！有大騷動從北地而來，要使猶大城市變成荒涼，作為野狗的住處。

你們若不聽，我必因你們的驕傲而在暗地裏哭泣；我的眼必痛哭流淚，因為永恆主的羣羊被擄了去。

因為你看，我在這地興起一個牧民者：被抹毁的、他不看顧，流蕩的、他不尋找，受折傷的、他不醫治，能自立的、他不供養，而肥壯者的肉、他反而喫掉，甚至牠們的蹄子、他也撕裂！有禍啊，無用的牧民者！撇棄羊羣的！刀劍必擊打他的膀臂，擊打他的右眼！他的膀臂必枯槁瘦削，他的右眼必昏暗失明！』

田野上的眾獸啊，來吞喫吧！樹林中的百獸啊，來撕裂哦！他的守望人是瞎眼的，都沒有知識；他們都是啞巴狗，不能叫喚；只是躺臥着，瞇瞇地睡，貪愛打盹。這些狗的食慾極強，不知飽足；嘿，這種人竟是牧人！不知聰明為何物！他們都偏向自行的路，各從各方專求自己的利益。他們說：『來！我去拿酒；我們來痛飲濃酒！明天也必像今天一樣，盛大豐盈之極。』

『所以牧民者啊，你們要聽永恆主的話語：主永恆主發神諭說；我指着永活的我來起誓，我的羊既沒有牧人，就成了被掠之物；我的羊做了田野上一切野獸的食物；我的牧人不尋找我的羊；這些牧人只知牧養自己，並不牧養我的羊。所以牧民者啊，你們要聽永恆主的話；主永恆主這麼說：看哪，我跟牧民者為敵；我必向他們手裏追討我的羊，使他們停止牧養我羊的責任；牧人就不得以再牧養自己。我必搶救我的羊脫離他們的口，不再做他們的食物。

做雇工而不是牧人的，羊不是自己的羊的，見狼來了，就撇下了羊逃跑了——狼抓住羊，給趕散了——因為他是雇工，他並不關心於羊。
