『人子啊，你要把臉朝着南邊的路向，向南滴下話語，傳神言攻擊南地田野的森林，對南地的森林說：你要聽永恆主的話：主永恆主這麼說：我必使火在你中間着起，將你中間一切多汁的樹和枯乾的樹都燒滅掉；炎熱的火燄必不熄滅；從南到北人的臉面都要被燒焦。

必有人從猶大的城市和耶路撒冷四圍的地方、從便雅憫地、從低原、山地、南地、而來，帶着燔祭、平安祭、素祭、乳香和感謝祭，進永恆主的殿。

他們要將地分做七分，猶大仍然在南方住他的境界；約瑟家仍然在北方住他的境界。

『但將來你若不聽永恆主你的上帝的聲音，而謹慎遵行他一切的誡命律例、就是我今日所吩咐你的，以下這一切咒詛就必臨到你，把你趕上。

永恆主必使你分散於萬族之民中，從地這邊到地那邊；在那裏你必事奉別的神、是你和你列祖素來不認識的、木頭石頭的神。在這些國中、你不能得安然，也沒有給你腳掌停息的地方；永恆主卻要使你在那裏心中發顫，眼目失明，精神消損。你的性命在你面前懸而無定；你晝夜恐懼，對自己的性命、都不敢自信。因你心裏所恐懼的事、和你眼中所看見的景況，早晨你必說：「巴不得到晚上才好呢！」晚上你必說：「巴不得到早晨才好呢！」永恆主必用船將你送回埃及去，所走的路、是我曾對你說過你永不會再見的；在那裏你必賣身給你的仇敵做奴隸做婢女，卻沒有人買。』

因為永恆主這麼說：看吧，我必使你和一切友愛你的人都覺得恐怖；他們必倒斃在他們的仇敵刀下，你必親眼看見。我必將猶大人全交在巴比倫王手中；他必使他們流亡到巴比倫去，用刀擊殺他們。

他若拆毁了，就不能再被建造；他若禁閉住了，便不能得開釋。
