當告王與后云、卑以自牧、退居下位、蓋上帝必使爾棄其冕旒、減其容光。

Say to the king and to the queen mother,“ Come down from your thrones, for your glorious crowns will fall from your heads.”

Speak to the king and his mother. Tell them,“ Come down from your thrones. Your glorious crowns are about to fall from your heads.”

The LORD told me,“ Tell the king and the queen mother,‘ Surrender your thrones, for your glorious crowns will be removed from your heads.

and Jehoiachin the king of Judah gave himself up to the king of Babylon, himself and his mother and his servants and his officials and his palace officials. The king of Babylon took him prisoner in the eighth year of his reign

I will hurl you and the mother who bore you into another country, where you were not born, and there you shall die.

And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon. The king’s mother, the king’s wives, his officials, and the chief men of the land he took into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

He laid waste their cities, and the land was appalled and all who were in it at the sound of his roaring.Then the nations set against him from provinces on every side; they spread their net over him; he was taken in their pit.With hooks they put him in a cage and brought him to the king of Babylon; they brought him into custody, that his voice should no more be heard on the mountains of Israel.Your mother was like a vine in a vineyard planted by the water, fruitful and full of branches by reason of abundant water.Its strong stems became rulers’ scepters; it towered aloft among the thick boughs; it was seen in its height with the mass of its branches.But the vine was plucked up in fury, cast down to the ground; the east wind dried up its fruit; they were stripped off and withered. As for its strong stem, fire consumed it.Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land.And fire has gone out from the stem of its shoots, has consumed its fruit, so that there remains in it no strong stem, no scepter for ruling. This is a lamentation and has become a lamentation.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,
