God gave Oreb and Zeeb, the Midianite leaders, into your hands. What was I able to do compared to you?” At this, their resentment against him subsided.

溫和的回答平息怒氣，粗暴的言詞激起憤怒。

又派人到整個以法蓮山區，吩咐當地人攻打米甸人，佔據遠至伯·巴拉一帶的約旦河渡口。以法蓮人都依言而行，還生擒了米甸人的兩名首領俄立和西伊伯。他們在俄立磐石上殺死了俄立，在西伊伯榨酒池殺了西伊伯。他們繼續追殺米甸人，並帶著俄立和西伊伯的人頭穿過約旦河，交給基甸。

我憑上帝賜給我的恩典勸告各位，不要自視過高，要照著上帝賜給各人的信心中肯地看待自己。

他們不是靠自己的刀劍征服那裡，不是靠自己的臂膀得勝，而是靠你的權能、力量和恩惠，因為你愛他們。

一句話說得合宜，就像金蘋果放在銀器裡。

不輕易發怒者勝過勇士，能自我控制勝過攻陷城池。

耶和華啊，不要將榮耀歸於我們，不要歸於我們。願榮耀歸於你的名，因為你慈愛、信實！

我們照所得的恩典各有不同的恩賜。說預言的，要按著信心的程度說預言；

耶和華是我的力量，是我的詩歌；祂拯救了我。義人的帳篷裡傳出勝利的歡呼聲：「耶和華伸出右手施展了大能！耶和華高舉右手，耶和華的右手施展了大能！」

別的事我不敢提，只有一件是我津津樂道的，就是基督藉著我的言語行為，用神蹟奇事和聖靈的大能叫外族人順服，使我把基督的福音從耶路撒冷一路傳到了以利哩古。

堅忍說服君王，柔舌折斷骨頭。

凡事不可自私自利、愛慕虛榮，要心存謙卑，看別人比自己強。

俗語說得好，『那人撒種，這人收割。』
