耶和華對基甸說：「人還是太多。你要帶他們下到水旁，我好在那裏為你試試他們。我指着誰對你說：『這人可以跟你去』，他就可以跟你去；我指着誰對你說：『這人不可跟你去』，他就不可跟你去。」

耶和华对基甸说：“人还是过多；你要带他们下到水旁，我好在那里为你试试他们。我指点谁说：‘这人可以同你去’，他就可以同你去；我指点谁说：‘这人不可同你去’，他就不可同你去。”

耶和华对基甸说：“人还是太多。你要带他们下到水旁，我好在那里为你试试他们。我指着谁对你说：‘这人可以跟你去’，他就可以跟你去；我指着谁对你说：‘这人不可跟你去’，他就不可跟你去。”

耶和华对基甸说：“人还是太多。你要带他们下到水旁，我好在那里为你试试他们。我指着谁对你说：‘这人可以跟你去’，他就可以跟你去；我指着谁对你说：‘这人不可跟你去’，他就不可跟你去。”

但耶和华对基甸说：“人还是太多，你带他们到下面的泉水边，我会在那里为你挑选人员。”

耶和华对基甸说：“人还是太多，你要领他们下到水旁去，我要在那里为你试验他们。我指着谁对你说：‘这人可以与你同去’，他就可以与你同去；我指着谁对你说：‘这人不可以与你同去’，他就不可以与你同去。”

耶和華對基甸說：「人還是過多；你要帶他們下到水旁，我好在那裏為你試試他們。我指點誰說：『這人可以同你去』，他就可以同你去；我指點誰說：『這人不可同你去』，他就不可同你去。」

耶和華對基甸說：「人還是太多。你要帶他們下到水旁，我好在那裏為你試試他們。我指着誰對你說：『這人可以跟你去』，他就可以跟你去；我指着誰對你說：『這人不可跟你去』，他就不可跟你去。」

但耶和華對基甸說：「人還是太多，你帶他們到下面的泉水邊，我會在那裡為你挑選人員。」

永恆主對基甸說：『人還是太多；你要帶着他們下到水邊，我好在那裏為你一試他們：我指着誰對你說：「這個人可以同你去」，他就可以同你去；我指着誰對你說：「這個人不可同你去」，他就不可同你去。』

耶和華又諭基甸曰、民猶過眾、導至水濱、我將為爾試之、所言可偕爾往者、則偕往、不可偕爾往者、則不偕往、

耶和華諭其田曰、從者猶眾、導至水濱、我為爾試之、可偕爾行者則與之偕、不可偕爾行者則不與之偕、爾當悉循我所示焉。

主又諭基甸曰、民猶過眾、令民下至水濱、在彼我為爾將試之、我所指示者曰、此人可偕爾往、則可往、我所指示者曰、此人不可偕爾往、則不可往、

But the Lord said to Gideon,“ There are still too many men. Take them down to the water, and I will thin them out for you there. If I say,‘ This one shall go with you,’ he shall go; but if I say,‘ This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”

The Lord said to Gideon,“ There are still too many men. So take them down to the water. There I will reduce the number of them for you. If I say,‘ This one will go with you,’ he will go. But if I say,‘ That one will not go with you,’ he will not go.”

And the Lord said to Gideon,“ The people are still too many. Take them down to the water, and I will test them for you there, and anyone of whom I say to you,‘ This one shall go with you,’ shall go with you, and anyone of whom I say to you,‘ This one shall not go with you,’ shall not go.”

But the Lord told Gideon,“ There are still too many! Bring them down to the spring, and I will test them to determine who will go with you and who will not.”

Then the LORD said to Gideon,“ There are still too many troops. Take them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. If I say to you,‘ This one can go with you,’ he can go. But if I say about anyone,‘ This one cannot go with you,’ he cannot go.”

Then the Lord said to Gideon,“ The people are still too many; bring them down to the water and I will test them for you there. So it shall be that he of whom I say to you,‘ This one shall go with you,’ he shall go with you; but everyone of whom I say to you,‘ This one shall not go with you,’ he shall not go.”

But the Lord said to Gideon,“ The people are still too many; bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. Then it will be, that of whom I say to you,‘ This one shall go with you,’ the same shall go with you; and of whomever I say to you,‘ This one shall not go with you,’ the same shall not go.”

And Jehovah said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

Then the Lord said to Gideon,“ There are still too many people. Take them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. If I say to you,‘ This one can go with you,’ he can go. But if I say about anyone,‘ This one cannot go with you,’ he cannot go.”

And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people[ are] yet[ too] many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be,[ that] of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.

The LORD spoke to Gideon again,“ There are still too many men. Bring them down to the water and I will thin the ranks some more. When I say,‘ This one should go with you,’ pick him to go; when I say,‘ This one should not go with you,’ do not take him.”

Yahweh said to Gideon,“ There are still too many people. Bring them down to the water, and I will test them for you there. It shall be, that those whom I tell you,‘ This shall go with you,’ shall go with you; and whoever I tell you,‘ This shall not go with you,’ shall not go.”

君王不能因兵多得勝，勇士不能因力大得救。

然而他知道我所走的路；他試煉我，我就如純金。

我使你作我百姓的測試者和考驗者，使你知道並考驗他們的行為。他們極其悖逆，到處毀謗人，他們是銅是鐵，全都敗壞了。風箱吹火，鉛被燒燬，煉而又煉，終是徒然，因為惡劣的還未除掉。人必稱他們為被拋棄的銀子，因為耶和華已經拋棄了他們。

願惡人的惡斷絕！願你堅立義人！因為公義的神察驗人的心腸肺腑。

這些事以後，神考驗亞伯拉罕，對他說：「亞伯拉罕！」他說：「我在這裏。」

神啊，你曾考驗我們，你熬煉我們，如煉銀子一樣。

他來的日子，誰能當得起呢？他顯現的時候，誰能立得住呢？因為他如煉金匠的火，如漂洗者的鹼。他必坐下如煉淨銀子的人，必潔淨利未人，熬煉他們像金銀一樣；他們就憑公義獻供物給耶和華。

耶和華卻對撒母耳說：「不要只看他的外貌和他身材高大，我不揀選他。因為耶和華不像人看人，人是看外貌，耶和華是看內心。」

約拿單對拿兵器的青年說：「來，我們過去到那些未受割禮之人的駐軍那裏，或者耶和華為我們施展能力，因為耶和華使人得勝，不在乎人多人少。」
