Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples invaded the country.

Each year the people planted their crops. When they did, the Midianites came into the country and attacked it. So did the Amalekites and other tribes from the east.

For whenever the Israelites planted crops, the Midianites and the Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them.

Whenever the Israelites planted their crops, marauders from Midian, Amalek, and the people of the east would attack Israel,

Whenever the Israelites planted crops, the Midianites, Amalekites, and the people of the east came and attacked them.

For whenever Israel had sown, the Midianites would come up with the Amalekites and the people of the east and march against them.

So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them.

伊磯倫集合了亞捫人和亞瑪力人，前來擊敗了以色列人，佔領了棕樹城。

那時米甸人、亞瑪力人和所有的東方人，都散布在平原上，好像蝗蟲那麼多；他們的駱駝無數，好像海邊的沙那麼多。

他的家產有七千隻羊、三千匹駱駝、五百對牛、五百頭母驢，並且有許多僕婢。這人在全東方的人中至為尊貴。

雅各繼續前行，到了東方人的地方。

那時，西巴和撒慕拿正在加各，與他們在一起的軍隊約有一萬五千人，就是東方人全營剩下的，因為有十二萬持刀的已經倒下了。

所羅門的智慧大過所有東方人的智慧，大過埃及人的一切智慧。

那時，米甸人、亞瑪力人和東方人，都聚集起來，過了河，在耶斯列平原安營。

你要撒種，卻不得收割，你要榨橄欖油，卻不得油抹身；你要榨葡萄汁，卻不得酒喝。

就願我所種的，讓別人來吃，願我田中出產的，都連根拔起來。

我就要這樣待你們：我必命驚慌臨到你們，癆病熱病使你們眼目昏花，心靈憔悴；你們必徒然撒種，因為你們的仇敵必吃盡你們的出產。

你和女子訂了婚，別人必和她同寢；你建造房屋，必不得住在裡面；你栽種葡萄園，必不得享用它的果子。你的牛在你眼前被宰了，你必不得吃牠的肉；你的驢從你面前被搶奪了，必不歸還給你；你的羊群交給了你的仇敵，必沒有人拯救。你的兒女必被交給別國的民，你必親眼看見，日日為他們焦慮；你必無能為力。你土地的出產和你勞碌得來的一切，都必被你不認識的民族吃盡；你必常常受壓迫和壓制；

他們必吞吃你牲畜所生的和你土地所產的，直到把你消滅；必不給你留下五穀、新酒和油、幼小的牛，以及肥嫩的羊，直到使你滅亡為止。

他們必建造房屋，住在其中；他們必栽種葡萄園，吃其中的果子。他們不建造由別人來居住的房屋；他們不栽種由別人來享用的葡萄園；因為我的子民的日子必像樹木的日子；我的選民必充分享用他們親手作工得來的。
