非尼哈祭司与会众中的领袖，就是与他同来那些以色列族系的领袖，听见吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西人所说的话，就都看为美。以利亚撒祭司的儿子非尼哈对吕便人、迦得人、玛拿西人说：“今日我们知道耶和华在我们中间，因为你们没有向他犯悖逆的罪。现在你们把以色列人从耶和华的手中救出来了。”以利亚撒祭司的儿子非尼哈与众领袖离开了吕便人和迦得人，从基列地回迦南地，到了以色列人那里，就把这事向他们回报。

大卫又再求问耶和华，耶和华回答说：“你起身下基伊拉去，我必将非利士人交在你手里。”于是大卫和他的人往基伊拉去，与非利士人打仗，大大击败他们，夺取他们的牲畜。这样，大卫救了基伊拉的居民。亚希米勒的儿子亚比亚他逃往基伊拉到大卫那里的时候，手里拿着以弗得。有人告诉扫罗，大卫到了基伊拉。扫罗说：“上帝将他交在我手里了，因为他进了有门有闩的城，把自己关起来了。”于是扫罗召集众百姓，要下去攻打基伊拉，围困大卫和他的人。大卫知道扫罗设计陷害他，就对亚比亚他祭司说：“把以弗得拿过来。”大卫说：“耶和华—以色列的上帝啊，你仆人确实听见扫罗设法要到基伊拉来，为我的缘故毁灭这城。基伊拉人会把我交在扫罗手里吗？扫罗会下来，正如你仆人所听见的吗？耶和华—以色列的上帝啊，求你指示仆人！”耶和华说：“他会下来。”大卫又说：“基伊拉人会把我和我的人交在扫罗手里吗？”耶和华说：“他们会交出来。”

犹大和耶路撒冷人哪，这次你们不要争战，要摆阵站着，看耶和华为你们施行拯救。不要恐惧，也不要惊惶。明日当出去迎敌，因为耶和华与你们同在。’”

耶和华啊，我知道人的道路不由自己，行路的人也不能定自己的脚步。

你要专心仰赖耶和华，不可倚靠自己的聪明，在你一切所行的路上都要认定他，他必使你的道路平直。

耶和华说：“犹大要先上去。看哪，我已将那地交在他手中。”

耶和华的怒气向乌撒发作；上帝因这冒犯在那里击打他，他就死在那里，在上帝的约柜旁。大卫因耶和华突然冲出撞死乌撒就生气，称那地方为毗列斯‧乌撒，直到今日。那日，大卫惧怕耶和华，说：“耶和华的约柜怎可到我这里来呢？”于是大卫不愿将耶和华的约柜接进大卫城他自己的地方，却转送到迦特人俄别‧以东的家中。耶和华的约柜停在迦特人俄别‧以东家中三个月，耶和华赐福给俄别‧以东和他的全家。有人告诉大卫王说：“耶和华因约柜的缘故赐福给俄别‧以东的家和一切属他的。”大卫就去，欢欢喜喜地将上帝的约柜从俄别‧以东家中接上来，到大卫城里。

约书亚说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你为什么领这百姓过约旦河，把我们交在亚摩利人手中，使我们灭亡呢？我们不如住在约旦河的那边！

以色列人派以利亚撒祭司的儿子非尼哈，往基列地，到吕便人、迦得人和玛拿西半支派的人那里。

大卫求问耶和华说：“我追赶这群人，是否追得上呢？”耶和华对他说：“你可以追，一定追得上，也一定救得回来。”

大卫求问耶和华说：“我可以上去攻打非利士人吗？你将他们交在我手里吗？”耶和华对大卫说：“你可以上去，我必将非利士人交在你手里。”大卫来到巴力‧毗拉心，在那里击败了非利士人。他说：“耶和华在我面前冲破敌人，如水冲破一样。”因此他称那地方为巴力‧毗拉心。非利士人把偶像抛弃在那里，大卫和他的人拿去了。非利士人又上来，散布在利乏音谷。大卫求问耶和华；耶和华说：“不要直上，要绕到他们后头，从桑树林对面攻打他们。你听见桑树梢上有脚步的声音，就要急速前去，因为那时耶和华已经出去，在你前头攻打非利士人的军队了。”

扫罗求问上帝说：“我可以下去追赶非利士人吗？你把他们交在以色列人手里吗？”这日上帝没有回答他。

亚伦祭司的孙子，以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈看见了，就从会众中起来，手里拿着枪，跟这以色列人进入帐棚，刺穿了二人，就是以色列人和那女子的肚腹。这样，以色列人遭受的瘟疫就停止了。遭瘟疫死的，有二万四千人。耶和华吩咐摩西说：“亚伦祭司的孙子，以利亚撒的儿子非尼哈，使我的愤怒转离以色列人，因为在他们中间，他以我的妒忌为他的妒忌，使我不在妒忌中毁灭以色列人。因此，你要说：‘看哪，我将我平安的约赐给他。这是他和他的后裔永远当祭司职任的约，因他为了上帝而妒忌，他为以色列人赎罪。’”

他们将上帝的约柜从山冈上亚比拿达的家里抬出来，放在新车上；亚比拿达的儿子乌撒和亚希约赶这新车。
