那麼你就要查究、搜索、仔細地究問。若這事實真地成立了，真有這可厭惡的事行於你中間，

以色列人打發了祭司以利亞撒的兒子非尼哈往基列地、去見如便人、迦得人、和瑪拿西半族派的人，又打發了十個首領，就是以色列各支派、各父系家屬各派一個首領和他同去；這些人在以色列族系中每一個都是他們父系家屬的首領。他們到了基列地，去見如便人、迦得人、和瑪拿西半族派的人，告訴他們說：『永恆主的全會眾這樣說：「你們對以色列的上帝不忠實，今日轉離了永恆主，為自己築了一座祭壇，背叛了永恆主，你們這樣不忠實是多麼大的不忠實啊！

『你臨近一座城、要攻擊它的時候，要向那城宣告和平的話。

若是可能，總要盡其在你們的、跟眾人和睦。

『倘若你弟兄犯了罪，你要去，當你和他獨在的時候使他自知有罪；他若聽你，你便贏得了你弟兄。他若不聽，你要另外帶着一個人或兩個人同你去，使句句話、憑着兩個或三個見證人親口說出，得以成立。他若不聽他們，你要告訴教會；倘若連教會他也不聽，你就拿他當外國人和收稅人得啦。我實在告訴你們，凡你們在地上禁止的，在天上也必被禁止；凡你們在地上准許的，在天上也必蒙准許。
