Yet they would not listen to their judges but prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped them. They quickly turned from the ways of their ancestors, who had been obedient to the Lord’s commands.

But the people wouldn’t listen to their leaders. They weren’t faithful to the Lord. They served other gods and worshiped them. They didn’t obey the Lord’ s commands as their people before them had done. They quickly turned away from the path their people had taken.

Yet they did not listen to their judges, for they whored after other gods and bowed down to them. They soon turned aside from the way in which their fathers had walked, who had obeyed the commandments of the Lord, and they did not do so.

Yet Israel did not listen to the judges but prostituted themselves by worshiping other gods. How quickly they turned away from the path of their ancestors, who had walked in obedience to the Lord’s commands.

諭曰、爾當速下、爾所導出埃及之民、已喪厥心、我示之道、違之甚速、鑄作偶像。

素以基督恩召爾者、爾何背之速、而從他福音耶、是我所異也、

當約書亞之存日、民奉事耶和華、及其沒也、諸長老尚在、民仍服事、以長老曾目擊耶和華為以色列族備行異跡故也。

七天使執鼎、其一語我曰、來、我以坐水上之大淫婦、將受之刑示爾、世上諸王、與婦行淫、天下億兆、飲其淫亂之酒、遂致沉湎、吾感於聖神時、天使攜我適野、見一婦乘絳獸、首七角十、遍書僭號於體、婦衣紅絳、飾金玉珠璣、執金斝、盛可憎淫穢於中、書奧名於顙云、巴比倫大邑、世之淫婦、與可憎者之母、

勿再狥欲、祭諸魑魅、著為永例、歷世勿替。

當告爾母、彼非我妻、我非其夫、彼當去淫行、勿為男擁抱、

民謂約書亞曰、我欲奉事我上帝耶和華而遵其命。

告撒母耳曰、昔蹈罪愆者屢矣、今欲立王、愈形不善、故代我祈爾之上帝耶和華、免我死亡。

遠離爾者必亡、縱私欲、不爾順者、必滅兮、

約書亞在時、以色列族事耶和華、約書亞沒、諸長老尚在、以色列族仍服事耶和華、以斯長老曾知耶和華助以色列事故也。○

曰、爾年已邁、爾子不肖、請爾簡立一王、以治理我、無異他國。撒母耳聞民欲立王、以治其事、意甚不悅、禱於耶和華。耶和華諭之曰、可從民言、彼不第棄爾、乃亦棄我、不欲我治理之。越在疇昔、我導斯民出於埃及、迄於今日、彼常棄我、服事他上帝、彼之待爾亦若是。

今值麥秋、我呼籲耶和華、彼將使雷震雨降、令爾知爾欲立王、已干大戾於耶和華前。

其列祖之上帝耶和華、矜憫其民、視其殿為貴重、數遣使訓誨之、彼譏上帝之使、藐視其命、侮其先知、干耶和華震怒、不復援手、

主屢行拯救、民乃背逆、自取罪戾、日就消亡兮。

狥私欲、作惡事、偏多穢行兮、

我所諭之道、彼違甚速、鑄犢崇拜祭祀、稱之曰以色列族乎、導爾出埃及之上帝、即此。

我見爾、於爾上帝耶和華所示之道、違之甚速、鑄像如犢。

爾見亞捫王拿轄攻爾、爾則請我、為爾立王、不知爾上帝耶和華為爾之王。

勿與居民立約、恐彼狥欲、從其上帝而獻祭、遂招爾曹共食祭物。恐爾取其女為媳、其女狥欲從其上帝、以惑爾子亦狥欲以從。
