When the people saw him, they praised their god, saying,“ Our god has delivered our enemy into our hands, the one who laid waste our land and multiplied our slain.”

他們一邊飲酒，一邊頌讚金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所造的神明。

參孫說：「用這驢腮骨，我殺人成堆；用這驢腮骨，我殺戮千人。」

就剝下掃羅的盔甲，割下他的頭顱，並派人到非利士四境向他們的偶像和民眾通告消息。

但我不願讓敵人誇口，宣稱這是他們的勝利，而非我的作為。』

地上萬民便興高采烈，互相送禮道賀，因為這兩位先知曾使地上的人受苦。

參孫大肆擊殺他們，殺死了很多人。事後，他下到以坦，住在那裡的岩洞裡。

迦勒底人向漁網獻祭，向漁網燒香，因為他們靠漁網而富裕，食物充足。

我們的上帝耶和華啊，現在求你從亞述王手中拯救我們，讓天下萬國都知道唯有你是耶和華。」

但我沒有這樣做，以免我的名在周圍列邦面前被褻瀆，因為列邦親眼看見我向以色列人顯現，把他們帶出埃及。

竟在天上的主面前自大，命人拿來祂殿裡的器皿，供你和大臣、王后、妃嬪用來飲酒，並頌讚不能看、不能聽、一無所知、用金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石所造的神明，卻不尊崇賜你生命氣息、掌管你一舉一動的上帝。

就割下了掃羅的頭顱，剝下他的盔甲，並派人走遍非利士全境，在他們偶像的廟裡及民眾中通告消息。
