参孙甚觉口渴，就求告耶和华说：“你既藉仆人的手施行这么大的拯救，岂可任我渴死、落在未受割礼的人手中呢？”

Because he was very thirsty, he cried out to the Lord,“ You have given your servant this great victory. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

Samson was very thirsty. So he cried out to the Lord. He said,“ You have helped me win this great battle. Do I have to die of thirst now? Must I fall into the power of people who haven’t even been circumcised? They aren’t your people.”

And he was very thirsty, and he called upon the Lord and said,“ You have granted this great salvation by the hand of your servant, and shall I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

Samson was now very thirsty, and he cried out to the Lord,“ You have accomplished this great victory by the strength of your servant. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of these pagans?”

Then he became very thirsty, and he called to the Lord and said,“ You have handed this great victory over to Your servant, and now am I to die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

We are afflicted in every way but not crushed; we are perplexed but not in despair;we are persecuted but not abandoned; we are struck down but not destroyed.

We don’t want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction that took place in Asia. We were completely overwhelmed— beyond our strength— so that we even despaired of life itself.Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death, so that we would not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead.

especially because of the extraordinary revelations. Therefore, so that I would not exalt myself, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to torment me so that I would not exalt myself.Concerning this, I pleaded with the Lord three times that it would leave me.

For who is God besides the LORD? And who is a rock? Only our God.God— he clothes me with strength and makes my way perfect.He makes my feet like the feet of a deer and sets me securely on the heights.He trains my hands for war; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.You have given me the shield of your salvation; your right hand upholds me, and your humility exalts me.You make a spacious place beneath me for my steps, and my ankles do not give way.I pursue my enemies and overtake them; I do not turn back until they are wiped out.I crush them, and they cannot get up; they fall beneath my feet.You have clothed me with strength for battle; you subdue my adversaries beneath me.You have made my enemies retreat before me; I annihilate those who hate me.

After this, when Jesus knew that everything was now finished that the Scripture might be fulfilled, he said,“ I’m thirsty.”

Abraham replied,“ I thought,‘ There is absolutely no fear of God in this place. They will kill me because of my wife.’

Gideon and the three hundred men came to the Jordan and crossed it. They were exhausted but still in pursuit.

Do not tell it in Gath, don’t announce it in the marketplaces of Ashkelon, or the daughters of the Philistines will rejoice, and the daughters of the uncircumcised will celebrate.

He called out to the LORD,“ Lord GOD, please remember me. Strengthen me, God, just once more. With one act of vengeance, let me pay back the Philistines for my two eyes.”

When the Egyptians see you, they will say,‘ This is his wife.’ They will kill me but let you live.Please say you’re my sister so it will go well for me because of you, and my life will be spared on your account.”

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are disjointed; my heart is like wax, melting within me.My strength is dried up like baked clay; my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You put me into the dust of death.

And what more can I say? Time is too short for me to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets,

David spoke to the men who were standing with him:“ What will be done for the man who kills that Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Just who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

The sun shone on him as he passed by Penuel— limping because of his hip.
