並不是我們憑自己能承擔甚麼事；我們所能承擔的，乃是出於神。

耶和華－我的神啊，如今你使僕人接續我父親大衛作王；但我是幼童，不知道應當怎樣出入。僕人住在你所揀選的民中，這民多得不可勝數。所以求你賜我智慧，可以判斷你的民，能辨別是非。不然，誰能判斷這眾多的民呢？」

你們中間若有缺少智慧的，應當求那厚賜與眾人、也不斥責人的神，主就必賜給他。

大衛知道掃羅設計謀害他，就對祭司亞比亞他說：「將以弗得拿過來。」大衛禱告說：「耶和華－以色列的神啊，你僕人聽真了掃羅要往基伊拉來，為我的緣故滅城。基伊拉人將我交在掃羅手裏不交？掃羅照着你僕人所聽的話下來不下來？耶和華－以色列的神啊，求你指示僕人！」耶和華說：「掃羅必下來。」大衛又說：「基伊拉人將我和跟隨我的人交在掃羅手裏不交？」耶和華說：「必交出來。」

各樣美善的恩賜和各樣全備的賞賜都是從上頭來的，從眾光之父那裏降下來的；在他並沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影兒。
