祂苦他们所苦，亲自拯救他们。祂本着慈爱和怜悯救赎了他们，自古以来一直扶持、照顾他们。

以法莲啊，我怎能舍弃你？以色列啊，我怎能弃绝你？我怎能使你的下场如押玛？我怎能对待你如对待洗扁？我的心意改变，我满怀怜爱。

以色列啊，你被自己的罪恶绊倒了，归向你的上帝耶和华吧！你要归向耶和华，向祂忏悔说：“求你赦免我们的罪，施恩悦纳我们，好叫我们以赞美为祭献给你！我们不再向亚述求救，不再依靠战马，也不再称自己所造的神像为我们的上帝。耶和华啊，只有在你那里，孤儿才能得到怜悯。”

亚撒听了俄德的儿子亚撒利雅先知的预言，就鼓起勇气在犹大和便雅悯全境以及他在以法莲山区夺取的各城邑铲除可憎的神像，并在耶和华殿的走廊前重修耶和华的祭坛。

“以法莲啊，你要远离偶像。我应允你的祷告，看顾你。我像一棵青翠的松树，你的果实都来自于我。”

耶稣快到耶路撒冷时，看见那城就哀哭，

约书亚说：“这样，你们现在就要摒弃你们中间的外族神明，专心归向以色列的上帝耶和华。”

玛拿西将偶像和外族人的神像从耶和华的殿中除去，又把他在圣殿山和耶路撒冷筑造的一切祭坛全部拆掉，扔在城外。

当我宣布要铲除、推翻、毁灭哪一邦或哪一国的时候，如果他们悔过自新，我必施怜悯，取消我原本要降给他们的灾祸。

耶和华说：“以法莲不是我的爱子吗？他不是我喜悦的孩子吗？我虽然常常责备他，但仍然惦记着他。我深深地想念他，我必怜悯他。

“耶和华见自己的子民力量衰竭，奴隶和自由人所剩无几，必为他们主持公道，怜悯祂的仆人。

所以，我向那世代的人发怒，说，‘他们总是执迷不悟，不认识我的道路。’

就后悔在地上造了人，心里伤痛，

便问：“你们把他葬在哪里了？”他们答道：“主啊，你来看。”

总要以恩慈、怜悯的心彼此相待，要互相饶恕，正如上帝在基督里饶恕了你们一样。

“所以主耶和华说，‘以色列人啊，我必按你们各人的行为审判你们。你们要悔改，痛改前非，使你们不致死在罪恶中。你们要离弃从前所有的罪恶，洗心革面。以色列人啊！你们何必走向灭亡呢？’主耶和华说，‘我断不喜欢任何人死亡，你们要悔改，以便存活。’”

而这些被称为我名下的子民若谦卑下来，祈祷、寻求我的面，离开恶道，我必从天上垂听，赦免他们的罪，医治他们的土地。
