But the Israelites said to the Lord,“ We have sinned. Do with us whatever you think best, but please rescue us now.”

But the Israelites replied to the Lord,“ We have sinned. Do to us what you think is best. But please save us now.”

And the people of Israel said to the Lord,“ We have sinned; do to us whatever seems good to you. Only please deliver us this day.”

But the Israelites pleaded with the Lord and said,“ We have sinned. Punish us as you see fit, only rescue us today from our enemies.”

But the Israelites said,“ We have sinned. Deal with us as you see fit; only rescue us today!”

Then the sons of Israel said to the Lord,“ We have sinned, do to us whatever seems good to You; only please save us this day.”

And the children of Israel said to the Lord,“ We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems best to You; only deliver us this day, we pray.”

And the children of Israel said unto Jehovah, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; only deliver us, we pray thee, this day.

But the Israelites said,“ We have sinned. Deal with us as You see fit; only deliver us today!”

And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.

But the Israelites said to the LORD,“ We have sinned. You do to us as you see fit, but deliver us today!”

The children of Israel said to Yahweh,“ We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems good to you; only deliver us, please, today.”

大卫统计了人口以后，内心不安，就对耶和华说：“我做这事犯了大罪。耶和华啊，求你赦免仆人的罪，我做了极其愚昧的事。”

他会当众歌唱说，‘我犯了罪，颠倒是非，祂却没有按我的罪报应我。

自掩其罪，必不亨通；痛改前非，必蒙怜悯。

上帝或许会施怜悯，收回烈怒，使我们不致灭亡，也未可知。”

大卫说：“我实在为难！不过我宁愿落在耶和华的手中，也不愿落在人的手中，因为耶和华有无限的怜悯。”

大卫对拿单说：“我得罪了耶和华。”拿单说：“耶和华已经赦免了你的罪，使你不致死亡。

“有谁对上帝说，‘我受了管教，不会再犯罪；我不明白的事，求你指教我；我若行了恶事，必不再行’？
