每當以色列人撒種之後，米甸、亞瑪力和東邊的人都上來攻打他們，

他出去攻擊非利士人，拆毀了迦特、雅比尼和亞實突的城牆，又在非利士人中，在亞實突境內建築城鎮。神幫助他攻擊非利士人和住在姑珥‧巴力的阿拉伯人，以及米烏尼人。
