耶和华对以色列人说：“我不是曾经拯救你们脱离埃及人、亚摩利人、亚扪人和非利士人吗？

The Lord replied,“ When the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines,

And the Lord said to the people of Israel,“ Did I not save you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites, from the Ammonites and from the Philistines?

And Jehovah said unto the children of Israel, Did not I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

这样，耶和华就在那一天把以色列人从埃及人的手里拯救了出来；以色列人看见埃及人都死在海边。

以笏之后，有亚拿的儿子珊迦；他用赶牛棒击杀了六百非利士人；他也拯救了以色列人。

以色列人派使者去见亚摩利人的王西宏说：“求你容我们从你的地经过；我们不偏入田间和葡萄园，也不喝井里的水；我们只走大路，直到过了你的境界。”西宏不容以色列人从他的境界经过，反而聚集了自己的人民，出到旷野去攻击以色列人，西宏到了雅杂，与以色列人交战。以色列人用刀击杀了他，占领了他的地，从亚嫩河到雅博河，直到亚扪人那里，因为雅谢是亚扪人的边界（本句或译﹕“因为亚扪人有坚固的边防”）。以色列人夺取了这一切城，也住在亚摩利人的各城，就是希实本，与属于希实本的一切村庄。

因着信，他们走过了红海，好像走过旱地一样；埃及人也试着要过去，就被淹没了。

从前雅各到了埃及，后来你们的列祖哀求耶和华，耶和华就差遣摩西和亚伦去把你们的列祖从埃及领出来，又使他们在这地方居住。

他击杀了多国的民，杀戮了强悍的王，就是亚摩利王西宏、巴珊王噩，和迦南列国的王。

于是国中太平了四十年。后来基纳斯的儿子俄陀聂死了。以色列人又行了耶和华看为恶的事，耶和华就使摩押王伊矶伦强盛起来，欺压以色列人，因为他们行了耶和华看为恶的事。伊矶伦集合了亚扪人和亚玛力人，前来击败了以色列人，占领了棕树城。于是以色列人服事了摩押王伊矶伦十八年。以色列人向耶和华哀求的时候，耶和华就为他们兴起一位拯救者，就是便雅悯人基拉的儿子以笏，是一个用左手的人。以色列人派他把贡物送给摩押王伊矶伦。

但他因自己的名的缘故拯救他们，为要彰显他的大能。他斥责红海，海就干了；他领他们走过海底，像经过旷野一样。他拯救他们脱离憎恨他们的人的手，从仇敌的手中救赎了他们。海水淹没了他们的敌人，连一个也没有留下。

耶和华的使者从吉甲上到波金来，说：“我曾经把你们从埃及领上来，带你们到我向你们列祖起誓应许的地方；我曾说过：‘我永不废弃我与你们所立的约；你们不可与这地的居民立约，要拆毁他们的祭坛。’你们竟没有听从我的话；你们作的是什么呢？因此我又说：‘我必不把他们从你们面前赶走，他们要作你们的敌人（按照《马索拉文本》，“敌人”作“边旁”，意思不明确，或译﹕“网罗”﹔现参照各古译本翻译），他们的神要作你们的网罗。’”

于是，他们杀了噩和他的儿子，以及他的众民，没有留下一个，就占领了他的地。

你看见我们的列祖在埃及所受的困苦，垂听他们在红海的哀求，因为你知道埃及人怎样狂妄自大地对待他们，所以就对法老和他的一切臣仆，以及他国中所有的人民，施行神迹奇事，为你自己建立了至今仍存的名声。你又在我们的列祖面前把海分开，使他们在海中的干地上走过去；把追赶他们的人丢在深处，好像石头抛进怒海之中。

他在埃及击杀了所有的长子，在含的帐棚中击杀了他们强壮时生的头胎子。他却把自己的子民领出来好像领羊群，在旷野引导他们像引导群畜一样。他带领他们平平安安地走过去，所以他们不惧怕；海却淹没了他们的仇敌。
