Look, I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the LORD’s temple.

Will you destroy the whole city for lack of five?” He replied,“ I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there.”Then he spoke to him again,“ Suppose forty are found there?” He answered,“ I will not do it on account of forty.”Then he said,“ Let my lord not be angry, and I will speak further. Suppose thirty are found there?” He answered,“ I will not do it if I find thirty there.”Then he said,“ Since I have ventured to speak to my lord, suppose twenty are found there?” He replied,“ I will not destroy it on account of twenty.”Then he said,“ Let my lord not be angry, and I will speak one more time. Suppose ten are found there?” He answered,“ I will not destroy it on account of ten.”

Make an appeal to the LORD. There has been enough of God’s thunder and hail. I will let you go; you don’t need to stay any longer.”Moses said to him,“ When I have left the city, I will spread out my hands to the LORD. The thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know the earth belongs to the LORD.

For just as through one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so also through the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.

So the LORD heard Hezekiah and healed the people.

So it was, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, he remembered Abraham and brought Lot out of the middle of the upheaval when he demolished the cities where Lot had lived.

He cried out to the LORD and said,“ LORD my God, please let this boy’s life come into him again!”So the LORD listened to Elijah, and the boy’s life came into him again, and he lived.Then Elijah took the boy, brought him down from the upstairs room into the house, and gave him to his mother. Elijah said,“ Look, your son is alive.”Then the woman said to Elijah,“ Now I know you are a man of God and the LORD’s word from your mouth is true.”

The people then came to Moses and said,“ We have sinned by speaking against the LORD and against you. Intercede with the LORD so that he will take the snakes away from us.” And Moses interceded for the people.Then the LORD said to Moses,“ Make a snake image and mount it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks at it, he will recover.”So Moses made a bronze snake and mounted it on a pole. Whenever someone was bitten, and he looked at the bronze snake, he recovered.

On the day the LORD gave the Amorites over to the Israelites, Joshua spoke to the LORD in the presence of Israel:“ Sun, stand still over Gibeon, and moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to him, requesting him to come and save the life of his servant.When they reached Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying,“ He is worthy for you to grant this,

They went outside and passed one street, and suddenly the angel left him.When Peter came to himself, he said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”

While Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, but whenever he put his hand down, Amalek prevailed.

When they heard this, they raised their voices together to God and said,“ Master, you are the one who made the heaven, the earth, and the sea, and everything in them.You said through the Holy Spirit, by the mouth of our father David your servant: Why do the Gentiles rage and the peoples plot futile things?The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers assemble together against the Lord and against his Messiah.“ For, in fact, in this city both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, assembled together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,to do whatever your hand and your will had predestined to take place.And now, Lord, consider their threats, and grant that your servants may speak your word with all boldness,while you stretch out your hand for healing, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God boldly.

Moses left Pharaoh and the city, and spread out his hands to the LORD. Then the thunder and hail ceased, and rain no longer poured down on the land.

“ If your brother sins against you, go tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have won your brother.But if he won’t listen, take one or two others with you, so that by the testimony of two or three witnesses every fact may be established.If he doesn’t pay attention to them, tell the church. If he doesn’t pay attention even to the church, let him be like a Gentile and a tax collector to you.

Now leave me alone, so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.”But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God:“ LORD, why does your anger burn against your people you brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and a strong hand?Why should the Egyptians say,‘ He brought them out with an evil intent to kill them in the mountains and eliminate them from the face of the earth’? Turn from your fierce anger and relent concerning this disaster planned for your people.Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Israel— you swore to them by yourself and declared,‘ I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky and will give your offspring all this land that I have promised, and they will inherit it forever.’”So the LORD relented concerning the disaster he had said he would bring on his people.

Then the king responded to the man of God,“ Plead for the favor of the LORD your God and pray for me so that my hand may be restored to me.” So the man of God pleaded for the favor of the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored to him and became as it had been at first.

So they went out and traveled from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing everywhere.

Then the LORD said to me,“ Even if Moses and Samuel should stand before me, my compassions would not reach out to these people. Send them from my presence, and let them go.

Then Hezekiah prayed before the LORD: LORD God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim, you are God— you alone— of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth.Listen closely, LORD, and hear; open your eyes, LORD, and see. Hear the words that Sennacherib has sent to mock the living God.LORD, it is true that the kings of Assyria have devastated the nations and their lands.They have thrown their gods into the fire, for they were not gods but made by human hands— wood and stone. So they have destroyed them.Now, LORD our God, please save us from his power so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, LORD, are God— you alone.Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah:“ The LORD, the God of Israel says,‘ I have heard your prayer to me about King Sennacherib of Assyria.’

King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz prayed about this and cried out to heaven,and the LORD sent an angel who annihilated every valiant warrior, leader, and commander in the camp of the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria returned in disgrace to his land. He went to the temple of his god, and there some of his own children struck him down with the sword.So the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the power of King Sennacherib of Assyria and from the power of all others. He gave them rest on every side.

Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh,“ Today I remember my faults.Pharaoh was angry with his servants, and he put me and the chief baker in the custody of the captain of the guards.

Now return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live. But if you do not return her, know that you will certainly die, you and all who are yours.”

urging them to ask the God of the heavens for mercy concerning this mystery, so Daniel and his friends would not be destroyed with the rest of Babylon’s wise men.The mystery was then revealed to Daniel in a vision at night, and Daniel praised the God of the heavensand declared: May the name of God be praised forever and ever, for wisdom and power belong to him.He changes the times and seasons; he removes kings and establishes kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.He reveals the deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with him.I offer thanks and praise to you, God of my ancestors, because you have given me wisdom and power. And now you have let me know what we asked of you, for you have let us know the king’s mystery.

But Moses replied to the LORD,“ The Egyptians will hear about it, for by your strength you brought up this people from them.They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you, LORD, are among these people, how you, LORD, are seen face to face, how your cloud stands over them, and how you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and in a pillar of fire by night.If you kill this people with a single blow, the nations that have heard of your fame will declare,‘ Since the LORD wasn’t able to bring this people into the land he swore to give them, he has slaughtered them in the wilderness.’“ So now, may my Lord’s power be magnified just as you have spoken:The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in faithful love, forgiving iniquity and rebellion. But he will not leave the guilty unpunished, bringing the consequences of the fathers’ iniquity on the children to the third and fourth generation.Please pardon the iniquity of this people, in keeping with the greatness of your faithful love, just as you have forgiven them from Egypt until now.”The LORD responded,“ I have pardoned them as you requested.

I fell down like the first time in the presence of the LORD for forty days and forty nights; I did not eat food or drink water because of all the sin you committed, doing what was evil in the LORD’s sight and angering him.I was afraid of the fierce anger the LORD had directed against you, because he was about to destroy you. But again the LORD listened to me on that occasion.The LORD was angry enough with Aaron to destroy him. But I prayed for Aaron at that time also.

In the womb he grasped his brother’s heel, and as an adult he wrestled with God.Jacob struggled with the angel and prevailed; he wept and sought his favor. He found him at Bethel, and there he spoke with him.

“ Your name will no longer be Jacob,” he said.“ It will be Israel because you have struggled with God and with men and have prevailed.”

Samuel called on the LORD, and on that day the LORD sent thunder and rain. As a result, all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.

For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,

Then Asa cried out to the LORD his God,“ LORD, there is no one besides you to help the mighty and those without strength. Help us, LORD our God, for we depend on you, and in your name we have come against this large army. LORD, you are our God. Do not let a mere mortal hinder you.”So the LORD routed the Cushites before Asa and before Judah, and the Cushites fled.

and said to him,“ My lord, don’t hold me guilty, and don’t remember your servant’s wrongdoing on the day my lord the king left Jerusalem. May the king not take it to heart.
