As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

As you know, we think that people who don’t give up are blessed. You have heard that Job was patient. And you have seen what the Lord finally did for him. The Lord is full of tender mercy and loving concern.

Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the Lord was kind to him at the end, for the Lord is full of tenderness and mercy.

See, we count as blessed those who have endured. You have heard of Job’s endurance and have seen the outcome that the Lord brought about— the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord— that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

Behold, we call them blessed that endured: ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord, how that the Lord is full of pity, and merciful.

Behold, we call them blessed who endured. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and have seen the Lord in the outcome, and how the Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

He said,“ Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord.”Despite all this, Job did not sin, nor did he blame God.

Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed,“ The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in faithfulness and truth;

“ Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.“ Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in mercy.

And you will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

The Lord also restored the fortunes of Job when he prayed for his friends, and the Lord increased double all that Job had.Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all who had known him before came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house; and they sympathized with him and comforted him for all the adversities that the Lord had brought on him. And each one gave him a piece of money, and each a ring of gold.The Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; and he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys.He also had seven sons and three daughters.He named the first Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren happuch.In all the land no women were found as beautiful as Job’s daughters; and their father gave them inheritances among their brothers.After this, Job lived 140 years, and saw his sons and his grandsons, four generations.And Job died, an old man and full of days.

But he said to her,“ You are speaking as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we actually accept good from God but not accept adversity?” Despite all this, Job did not sin with his lips.

In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which perishes though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.Let the wicked abandon his way, And the unrighteous person his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from a trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment,

‘ The Lord is slow to anger and abundant in mercy, forgiving wrongdoing and violation of His Law; but He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished, inflicting the punishment of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generations.’

But we are not among those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith for the safekeeping of the soul.

My God, incline Your ear and hear! Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city which is called by Your name; for we are not presenting our pleas before You based on any merits of our own, but based on Your great compassion.Lord, hear! Lord, forgive! Lord, listen and take action! For Your own sake, my God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”

Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

The Lord’s acts of mercy indeed do not end, For His compassions do not fail.

Who is a God like You, who pardons wrongdoing And passes over a rebellious act of the remnant of His possession? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.

But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, Slow to anger and abundant in mercy and truth.

For we have become partakers of Christ if we keep the beginning of our commitment firm until the end,

I will make mention of the mercies of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, According to all that the Lord has granted us, And the great goodness toward the house of Israel, Which He has granted them according to His compassion And according to the abundance of His mercies.

Be gracious to me, God, according to Your faithfulness; According to the greatness of Your compassion, wipe out my wrongdoings.

Blessed is the man whom You discipline, Lord, And whom You teach from Your Law,

And tear your heart and not merely your garments.” Now return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in mercy And relenting of catastrophe.

David said to Gad,“ I am in great distress; please let me fall into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are very great. But do not let me fall into human hands.”

The end of a matter is better than its beginning; Patience of spirit is better than arrogance of spirit.

Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and restraint and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness, For they have been from of old.Do not remember the sins of my youth or my wrongdoings; Remember me according to Your faithfulness, For Your goodness’ sake, Lord.

To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, because we have rebelled against Him;

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate.

In all their distress He was distressed, And the angel of His presence saved them; In His love and in His mercy He redeemed them, And He lifted them and carried them all the days of old.

And His mercy is to generation after generation Toward those who fear Him.

Turn to me and be gracious to me, As is right for those who love Your name.

But He knows the way I take; When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold.

For if you return to the Lord, your brothers and your sons will find compassion in the presence of those who led them captive, and will return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate, and will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him.”

The Lord is gracious and compassionate; Slow to anger and great in mercy.

They refused to listen, And did not remember Your wondrous deeds which You performed among them; So they became stubborn and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But You are a God of forgiveness, Gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger and abounding in mercy; And You did not abandon them.

but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house— whose house we are, if we hold firmly to our confidence and the boast of our hope.

Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

Observe the blameless person, and look at the upright; For the person of peace will have a future.

Then he prayed to the Lord and said,“ Please Lord, was this not what I said when I was still in my own country? Therefore in anticipation of this I fled to Tarshish, since I knew that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abundant in mercy, and One who relents of disaster.

Though He slay me, I will hope in Him. Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.This also will be my salvation, For a godless person cannot come before His presence.

But He, being compassionate, forgave their wrongdoing and did not destroy them; And often He restrained His anger And did not stir up all His wrath.

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, set your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all who call upon You.

to the praise of the glory of His grace, with which He favored us in the Beloved.

Seven sons and three daughters were born to him.

Nevertheless, in Your great compassion You did not make an end of them or abandon them, For You are a gracious and compassionate God.
