But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and personally drag you into court?

你们反倒羞辱贫穷人。那富足人岂不是欺压你们、拉你们到公堂去吗？

爾乃辱夫貧者、彼富者非挾制爾、曳爾至公庭乎、

何以爾反辱貧者乎、富者非挾制爾、拘曳爾、以至公庭乎、

爾竟辱貧人、富者非欺壓爾、曳爾至公庭乎、

而爾等竟敢輕慢貧人！夫富人非即以勢凌爾、扭爾以至公庭者乎？

But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?

What! Do you not have houses in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing? What am I to say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I do not praise you.

Therefore because you impose heavy rent on the poor And take a tribute of grain from them, Though you have built houses of cut stone, Yet you will not live in them; You have planted beautiful vineyards, yet you will not drink their wine.

You have seen it, for You have looked at harm and provocation to take it into Your hand. The unfortunate commits himself to You; You have been the helper of the orphan.

The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the Lord and against His Christ.’For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,to do whatever Your hand and purpose predestined to occur.

One who oppresses the poor to make more for himself, Or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty.

and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the bright clothes, and say,“ You sit here in a good place,” and you say to the poor man,“ You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,”

The Lord enters into judgment with the elders and leaders of His people,“ It is you who have devoured the vineyard; The goods stolen from the poor are in your houses.What do you mean by crushing My people And oppressing the face of the poor?” Declares the Lord God of armies.

Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of armies.

Then he crushes the needy one, who cowers; And unfortunate people fall by his mighty power.

Hear this word, you cows of Bashan who are on the mountain of Samaria, Who exploit the poor, who oppress the needy, And say to their husbands,“ Bring now, that we may drink!”

But there was found in it a poor wise man, and he saved the city by his wisdom. Yet no one remembered that poor man.So I said,“ Wisdom is better than strength.” But the wisdom of the poor man is despised, and his words are ignored.

This is what the Lord says:“ For three offenses of Israel, and for four, I will not revoke its punishment, Because they sell the righteous for money, And the needy for a pair of sandals.These who trample the head of the helpless to the dust of the earth Also divert the way of the humble; And a man and his father resort to the same girl So as to profane My holy name.

Can I justify dishonest balances, And a bag of fraudulent weights?For the rich people of the city are full of violence, Her residents speak lies, And their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

He sits in the lurking places of the villages; He kills the innocent in the secret places; His eyes surreptitiously watch for the unfortunate.

If you see oppression of the poor and denial of justice and righteousness in the province, do not be shocked at the sight; for one official watches over another official, and there are higher officials over them.

You pierced with his own arrows The head of his leaders. They stormed in to scatter us; Their arrogance was like those Who devour the oppressed in secret.

But the high priest stood up, along with all his associates( that is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy.They laid hands on the apostles and put them in a public prison.

But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was suddenly gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the authorities,and when they had brought them to the chief magistrates, they said,“ These men, Jews as they are, are causing our city trouble,

and do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the stranger or the poor; and do not devise evil in your hearts against one another.’

He was despised and abandoned by men, A man of great pain and familiar with sickness; And like one from whom people hide their faces, He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.

In arrogance the wicked hotly pursue the needy; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.

Hear this, you who trample the needy, to put an end to the humble of the land,saying,“ When will the new moon be over, So that we may sell grain; And the Sabbath, so that we may open the wheat market, To make the ephah smaller and the shekel bigger, And to cheat with dishonest scales,So as to buy the helpless for money, And the needy for a pair of sandals, And that we may sell the refuse of the wheat?”

Then the captain went along with the officers and proceeded to bring them back without violence( for they were afraid of the people, that they might be stoned).When they had brought them, they had them stand before the Council. The high priest interrogated them,

As they were speaking to the people, the priests and the captain of the temple guard and the Sadducees came up to them,being greatly disturbed because they were teaching the people and proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.And they laid hands on them and put them in prison until the next day, for it was already evening.

For he has oppressed and neglected the poor; He has seized a house which he has not built.

Jesus answered,“ I do not have a demon; on the contrary, I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.
