For that person ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,

You ask and do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives, so that you may spend what you request on your pleasures.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But the prayer of the upright is His delight.

So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you offer many prayers, I will not be listening. Your hands are covered with blood.

‘ Why have we fasted and You do not see? Why have we humbled ourselves and You do not notice?’ Behold, on the day of your fast you find your desire, And oppress all your workers.Behold, you fast for contention and strife, and to strike with a wicked fist. You do not fast like you have done today to make your voice heard on high!

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination, How much more when he brings it with evil intent!
