因此，看哪，主必使幼发拉底河强盛的大水，就是亚述王和他所有的威势，上涨淹没他们，又上涨淹没一切水道，漫过所有的河岸；然后涌入犹大，漫溢泛滥，高达颈项！他展开的翅膀，遍满你广阔的土地，以马内利啊！”

人们被大炎热灼烤，就亵渎了那有权柄统管这些灾害的神的名；他们也不悔改，不把荣耀归给他。第五位天使把他的碗倒在那兽的宝座上，兽的国就变成黑暗了，人们因痛苦而咬自己的舌头。他们因自己的痛苦、因自己的疮而亵渎了天上的神，还是不悔改离开自己的行为。

可是，其余没有被这些灾害所杀的人，还是不悔改离开自己手所做的，不停止拜鬼魔和那些金、银、铜、石、木的偶像——它们既不能看、也不能听、更不能走。他们也不悔改离开自己那些杀人、邪术、淫乱、偷窃之事。
