The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said,

This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people:

The Lord speaks to me while his powerful hand is on me. He is warning me not to live the way these people live. He says,

For the Lord spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying:

For this is what the LORD said to me with great power, to keep me from going the way of this people:

For so the Lord spoke to me with mighty power and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,

For the Lord spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying:

For Jehovah spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,

For this is what the Lord said to me with great power, to keep me from going the way of this people:

For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

Indeed this is what the LORD told me. He took hold of me firmly and warned me not to act like these people:

For Yahweh spoke this to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,

The Spirit lifted me up and took me away. I went in bitterness and turmoil, but the Lord’s hold on me was strong.

My child, don’t go along with them! Stay far away from their paths.

“ Son of man, do not fear them or their words. Don’t be afraid even though their threats surround you like nettles and briers and stinging scorpions. Do not be dismayed by their dark scowls, even though they are rebels.You must give them my messages whether they listen or not. But they won’t listen, for they are completely rebellious!Son of man, listen to what I say to you. Do not join them in their rebellion. Open your mouth, and eat what I give you.”

This is how the Lord responds:“ If you return to me, I will restore you so you can continue to serve me. If you speak good words rather than worthless ones, you will be my spokesman. You must influence them; do not let them influence you!

O Lord, you misled me, and I allowed myself to be misled. You are stronger than I am, and you overpowered me. Now I am mocked every day; everyone laughs at me.

We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.”

The Lord says,“ I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.

But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!
