Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.

A seraph flew over to me. He was holding a hot coal. He had used tongs to take it from the altar.

又一天使執金香爐來、立於祭臺側、又得多香、以與聖徒祈禱、同獻於寶座前之金臺、香之煙與聖徒之祈禱、自天使手同升於天主前、天使將香爐盈以臺上之火傾於地、即有眾聲雷轟電閃地震、○

遵律法、諸物皆以血而潔、若不流血、則無赦免、按天上物式而造者、當用如此之祭祀以潔之、則天上本物、當用較此更美之祭祀以潔之、蓋基督非入手造之聖所、即真聖所之影像、乃實入於天、今為我儕立於天主前、不須屢獻己身、如彼大祭司、每年以牲之血、以牲之血原文作以非己之血入於聖所、若然、則基督自創世以來、多次受苦、惟在此末世、一次顯現、自獻為祭、以除人罪、

主諭衣白細麻衣者曰、爾入基路伯下之輪中、自諸基路伯中、取火炭滿掬、散之邑上、我遂見其往、

由主前祭臺上取爇炭、盛於香爐、又取細香粉盈掬、攜入幔內、

我儕有祭臺、其上之祭物、在幕中奉事者、不得食之、

言及天使、經云、天主使其使者為風、使其役者為火、使其使者為風使其役者為火或作使風為其使者使火為其役者

天使非皆為服役之神、奉遣以事將得救之人乎、

夫我以水施洗於爾、使爾悔改、但後我來者更勝於我、即提其履、我亦不堪、彼將以聖神及火、施洗於爾、

遂見有分歧之舌、其狀如火、而止於各人上、

寶座以上、群撒拉弗侍立、各有六翼、以二蔽面、以二蔽足、以二飛翔、

我祈禱之詞未竟、在獻夕祭之時、前異象中所見之人迦伯列、迅速而而或作如飛、前來撫我身、誨我云、但以理、我來為欲使爾明悟此事、爾始禱之時、我已奉命來示爾、蓋爾大蒙恩寵、當悟會我言、明通異象之義、
