O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear![ even] cry out unto thee[ of] violence, and thou wilt not save!Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause[ me] to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence[ are] before me: and there are[ that] raise up strife and contention.Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.

Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and[ that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue[ is] deceitful in their mouth.

Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.And they covet fields, and take[ them] by violence; and houses, and take[ them] away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time[ is] evil.

In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters’ houses with violence and deceit.

Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as[ ye do this] day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts[ is] the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry.

Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war.

Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.

Her princes within her[ are] roaring lions; her judges[ are] evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.Her prophets[ are] light[ and] treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.
