人人向鄰舍說謊；他們說話嘴唇油滑，心口不一。

我若心裏注重罪孽，主必不聽。但上帝實在聽見了，他留心聽了我禱告的聲音。

又當以耶和華為樂，他就將你心裏所求的賜給你。

你們舉手禱告，我必遮眼不看，就算你們多多祈禱，我也不聽；你們的手沾滿了血。

住在錫安、居於耶路撒冷的百姓啊，你必不再哭泣。主必因你哀求的聲音施恩給你，他聽見的時候就必應允你。

你們向誰戲笑？向誰張口吐舌呢？你們豈不是叛逆所生的兒女，虛謊所生的後代嗎？

我在急難中求告耶和華，耶和華就應允我，把我安置在寬闊之地。

我所要的禁食，豈不是要你鬆開兇惡的繩，解開軛上的索，使被欺壓的得自由，折斷一切的軛嗎？

就是悖逆，否認耶和華，轉去不跟從我們的上帝，口說欺壓和叛逆的話，心懷謊言，隨即說出；

因為家中神像所言的是虛空，占卜者所見的是虛假，他們講說假夢，徒然安慰人。所以眾人如羊流離，因無牧人就受欺壓。

雅各來到他父親那裏，說：「我的父親！」他說：「我在這裏。我兒，你是誰？」

因你們的手掌被血沾染，你們的指頭被罪玷污，你們的嘴唇說謊言，你們的舌頭出惡語。無人按公義控訴，也無人憑誠實辯白；卻倚靠虛妄，口說謊言，懷毒害，生罪孽。

所以主耶和華如此說：「因你們說的是虛假，見的是謊詐，所以，看哪，我要敵對你們。這是主耶和華說的。

耶和華呼喚撒母耳，撒母耳說：「我在這裏！」他跑到以利那裏，說：「你叫我嗎？我在這裏。」以利說：「我沒有叫你，回去睡吧。」他就回去睡了。耶和華又呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳起來，到以利那裏，說：「你叫我嗎？我在這裏。」以利說：「我兒，我沒有叫你，回去睡吧。」那時撒母耳還未認識耶和華，耶和華的話也未曾向他啟示。耶和華第三次再呼喚撒母耳。撒母耳起來，到以利那裏，說：「你叫我嗎？我在這裏。」以利才明白是耶和華呼喚這小孩。
