在患難的日子你要呼求我，我便救拔你；你就榮耀我。』

你們要呼求我，要來禱告我，我就聽你們。你們要尋求我、而尋見；你們若全心地尋找我，

那時他們還未呼求，我就應了；他們還在說話，我就垂聽了。

他擠眼傳神，擦腳示意，用手指頭指點，

永恆主的眼向着義人，他的耳側向他們的呼救。永恆主向行壞事的人板着臉，他必將他們被記念的遺跡從地上都剪除掉。人哀叫，永恆主便垂聽，援救他們脫離一切的患難。

他向我呼求，我就應他；他在患難中、我必和他同在；我必救拔他，使他尊貴。

『求，就給你們；尋找，就找着；敲門，就給你們開。因為凡求的，就得着；尋找的，就找着；敲門的，就給他開。

人人跟鄰舍說虛謊話；他們說話、是嘴脣油滑、存兩樣心的。

我若心裏看重罪孽，主必不聽我。然而上帝實在聽了；他留心聽了我禱告的聲音。

你對永恆主要有絕妙樂趣，他就將你心裏所求的賜給你。

你們伸開雙手來禱告，我必掩目不看你們；就使你們多多禱告，我也不聽；你們的手都滿了血，你們的指頭滿了罪孽。

哦，錫安裏的人民、住在耶路撒冷的人哪，你一定不必再哭；他一定因你的哀呼聲來恩待你；他聽見時就要應你。

你們挖苦誰？張大了口伸長舌頭戲弄誰呢？你們豈不是「悖逆」所生的，「虛假」之種呢？

我從困苦中呼求永恆主，他就應了我，把我安置於寬闊之地。

『豈不是打開兇惡的銬鐐，解下軛上的繩索，使被壓制的得自由，折斷一切的軛麼？

就是悖逆、否認永恆主，退轉而不跟從我們的上帝，說乖僻叛逆的話，從心裏孕懷着虛假話而說出。

因為家神所說的是虛無，占卜者所見的徵象是虛假，作夢者所說的是虛妄；他們安慰人是徒然的；故此眾人都像羊各走己路，因無牧人就困苦。

雅各進去見他父親，說：『阿爸。』以撒說：『嗯；孩子啊，你是誰？』

因為你們的手被污染於血中，你們的指頭被玷污於罪孽裏；你們的嘴脣說虛假話，你們的舌頭嘟囔着奸惡。沒有人按公義告狀，沒有人憑誠實辯訴；都倚靠着虛空，說虛謊的話；所孕懷的是毒害，所生的是奸惡。

因此主永恆主這麼說：『因為你們說的是虛謊，見的是謊詐，那麼你就看吧，我是跟你們作對的：主永恆主發神諭說。

永恆主呼喚了撒母耳；撒母耳說：『我在這裏呢。』就跑到以利跟前說：『你呼喚我；我在這裏呢。』以利說：『我沒有呼喚你；你回去睡吧！』他就去睡。永恆主又再呼喚撒母耳；撒母耳起來，到以利跟前說：『你呼喚我；我在這裏呢。』以利說：『我兒啊，我沒有呼喚你；你回去睡吧！』那時撒母耳還未認識永恆主，永恆主的話還未向他啓示過。永恆主第三次又呼喚了撒母耳；撒母耳起來，到以利跟前說：『你呼喚我；我在這裏呢。』以利這才明白是永恆主在呼喚孩子。
