我因他贪婪的罪孽就发怒击打他，我向他隐藏、发怒；他却仍然随着自己的心意背道而行。

I was enraged by their sinful greed; I punished them, and hid my face in anger, yet they kept on in their willful ways.

I was very angry with them. They always longed for more and more of everything. So I punished them for that sin. I turned my face away from them because I was angry. But they kept on wanting their own way.

Because of the iniquity of his unjust gain I was angry, I struck him; I hid my face and was angry, but he went on backsliding in the way of his own heart.

这些狗非常贪食，不知饱足；他们作为牧人，却没有悟性；他们全都偏行己路，各人尽都谋求自己的利益。

至于淫乱和一切污秽，或是贪心，在你们中间连提都不可提，这样才与圣徒相宜。污秽的言行、愚妄的话语、下流的笑话，这些都不合宜；反而倒要说感谢的话。实际上你们应当清楚知道这一点：所有淫乱的、污秽的，或贪心的——就是拜偶像的——在基督和神的国度里都得不到继业。

接着耶稣对他们说：“你们要注意，要提防一切贪心，因为一个人的生命不在于他财产的丰厚。”

祸哉！有罪的国，罪孽深重的民，作恶者的后裔，败坏的儿女！他们离弃耶和华，藐视以色列的圣者，转背远离他。

当他花尽了自己的一切，那地方又发生了严重的饥荒，他就开始穷困起来。于是他去投靠当地的一个居民，那人打发他到自己的田里去放猪。他就是渴望拿猪吃的豆荚来充饥，也没有人给他。

祸哉！你们这样的人！你们使房屋连着房屋，田地接着田地，以致没有多余的空间，好独自居住在那地当中。万军之耶和华起誓，让我亲耳听见：“必有许多房屋成为废墟，甚至那些又大又美的房屋也无人居住。

我要等候向雅各家掩面的耶和华，我要仰望他！

他们因着贪心，会用捏造的话利用你们。对他们的惩罚，从太古的时候就没有失效，他们的灭亡也不耽延。

至于那些想发财的人就会陷入试探、网罗以及很多无知有害的欲望里；这些欲望使人沉溺在败坏和灭亡中。

眼睛所见的好过心里妄想。这也是虚空，也是捕风！

然而，这百姓既不转向击打他们的那一位，也不寻求万军之耶和华。

所以，当把你们属世的各个部分看为死了的，就如淫乱、污秽、邪情、恶欲和贪心，贪心就是拜偶像。

他们眼中充满了淫欲和无止境的罪；他们引诱不坚定的人；他们心中习惯了贪婪；他们是被诅咒的儿女；

拯救者以色列的神哪，你确实是自我隐藏的神！
