For I will not accuse you forever, and I will not always be angry; for then the spirit would grow weak before me, even the breath, which I have made.

I will not accuse them forever, nor will I always be angry, for then they would faint away because of me— the very people I have created.

I will not find fault with my people forever. I will not always be angry with them. If I were, I would cause their spirits to grow weak. The people I created would faint away.

Who is a God like you, forgiving iniquity and passing over rebellion for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not hold on to his anger forever because he delights in faithful love.

Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger for all generations?

Yet he was compassionate; he atoned for their iniquity and did not destroy them. He often turned his anger aside and did not unleash all his wrath.He remembered that they were only flesh, a wind that passes and does not return.

Furthermore, we had human fathers discipline us, and we respected them. Shouldn’t we submit even more to the Father of spirits and live?

Discipline me, LORD, but with justice— not in your anger, or you will reduce me to nothing.

He will not always accuse us or be angry forever.He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve or repaid us according to our iniquities.For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his faithful love toward those who fear him.As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him.For he knows what we are made of, remembering that we are dust.As for man, his days are like grass— he blooms like a flower of the field;when the wind passes over it, it vanishes, and its place is no longer known.

But Moses and Aaron fell facedown and said,“ God, God who gives breath to all, when one man sins, will you vent your wrath on the whole community?”

This is what God, the LORD, says— who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and what comes from it, who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk on it—

And the LORD said,“ My Spirit will not remain with mankind forever, because they are corrupt. Their days will be 120 years.”

King Zedekiah swore to Jeremiah in private,“ As the LORD lives, who has given us this life, I will not kill you or hand you over to these men who intend to take your life.”

and the dust returns to the earth as it once was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

A pronouncement: The word of the LORD concerning Israel. A declaration of the LORD, who stretched out the heavens, laid the foundation of the earth, and formed the spirit of man within him.

If he put his mind to it and withdrew the spirit and breath he gave,every living thing would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.
