You wearied yourself by such going about, but you would not say,‘ It is hopeless.’ You found renewal of your strength, and so you did not faint.

You wore yourself out with all your efforts. But you would not say,‘ It’s hopeless.’ You received new strength. So you did not give up.

You were wearied with the length of your way, but you did not say,“ It is hopeless”; you found new life for your strength, and so you were not faint.

You grew weary in your search, but you never gave up. Desire gave you renewed strength, and you did not grow weary.

我说，‘不要因追随假神而跑破鞋子，喉咙干渴。’你却说，‘不行！我爱外族的神明，一定要跟随他们。’

他们却说，‘不！我们喜欢随心所欲，为所欲为。’”

他们彼此欺骗，不说真话；他们说谎成性，不知疲倦地肆意犯罪；

耶和华啊，你要的不是诚实吗？你责打他们，他们不感到疼痛；你严惩他们，他们仍不受教。他们屡教不改，脸比石头还硬。

众多的计谋使你疲惫不堪，让那些观天象、每月说预言的占星家来救你脱离将临的灾祸吧！

列邦的财富都化为灰烬，列国劳碌却是一场空。这不都是出于万军之耶和华吗？

你们为什么这样忽东忽西地变来变去呢？你们投奔埃及必蒙羞辱，就像从前投奔亚述一样。

因此，秋雨不降，春雨不来。你却仍然不知羞耻，一副娼妓的嘴脸。

但我们必照所许的愿向天后烧香奠酒，正如我们和我们的祖先、君王和官长在犹大各城和耶路撒冷街上所做的一样。那时，我们食物充足，生活幸福，无灾无祸。但自从我们停止向天后烧香奠酒后，我们便一无所有，不断有人死于战争和饥荒。”

我没认识律法之前是活的，但律法来了之后，罪就活了，而我却死了。

亚哈斯在患难时越发悖逆耶和华，竟去祭拜打败他的大马士革人的神明，说：“既然亚兰王的神明帮助了亚兰人，我要向这些神明献祭，以便它们帮助我。”但那些神明导致了他和全体以色列人的灭亡。

却徒劳无功，因为锈垢太厚，就是用火也不能清除。
