As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,

The rain and the snow come down from the sky. They do not return to it without watering the earth. They make plants come up and grow. The plants produce seeds for farmers. They also produce food for people to eat.

你撒在地裡的種子，主必降雨在其上，並且使你地裡所出產的糧食，既豐盛又肥美。到那日，你的牲畜必在寬闊的草場上吃草。

我的教訓下降如雨，我的言語滴落如露，像細雨落在青草上，像甘霖降在蔬菜上。

你們要為自己撒種公義，就能收割慈愛的果子，你們要翻鬆荒地。現在是尋求耶和華的時候，直等到他來，降下公義的雨在你們身上。

地怎樣發生苗芽，園子怎樣使所種的生長起來，主耶和華也必怎樣使公義和讚美，在萬國之前生長出來。

我必使他們和我的山四圍都蒙福；我必按時降雨，這就是賜福的雨。

他們有權柄在他們傳道的日子叫天閉塞不下雨，又有權柄掌管眾水，使水變成血，並且有權柄可以隨時隨意用各樣災難擊打全地。

你眷顧大地，普降甘霖，使地甚為肥沃；神的河滿了水，好為人預備五穀；你就這樣預備了大地。你灌溉地的犁溝，潤平犁脊，又降雨露使地鬆軟，並且賜福給地上所生長的。你以恩典為年歲的冠冕，你的路徑都滴下脂油，滴在曠野的草場上；群山以歡樂束腰，牧場以羊群為衣，山谷都蓋滿了五穀；這一切都歡呼歌唱。

他必像雨降在已割的草地上，像甘霖滋潤大地。他在世的日子，義人必興旺，四境太平，直到月亮不再重現。

我要使它荒廢，不再修剪，也不再耕耘，荊棘和蒺藜卻要長起來；我也要吩咐雲不再降雨在園子上。

於是大衛再求問耶和華。耶和華回答他說：“你只管起來，下到基伊拉去，因為我必把非利士人交在你的手裡。”
