你们举目仰望穹苍，俯首观看大地吧。穹苍必像烟云消散，大地必像衣服一样渐渐破旧，地上的居民必像蚊蝇一样死亡。但我的救恩永远长存，我的公义永不废除。认识公义、铭记我训诲的人啊，听我说。你们不要害怕人的辱骂，也不要畏惧他们的毁谤。

但我不会收回我的慈爱，也不会背弃我的信实。我必不毁约，也不食言。

我与他所立的是生命和平安之约，我将生命和平安赐给他，使他心存敬畏。他就尊崇我，敬畏我的名。

我盛怒之下暂时掩面不理你，但我要以永远不变的慈爱怜悯你。这是你的救赎主耶和华说的。

但如今，基督得到了一个更超越的职任，正如祂担任了更美之约的中保，这约是根据更美的应许所立的。因为如果第一个约没有缺点，就不必另立新约了。然而，上帝指责祂的百姓，说：“看啊，时候将到，我要与以色列家和犹大家另立新约，这约不同于我与他们祖先所立的约，就是我牵着他们祖先的手领他们离开埃及时所立的。因为他们不持守我的约，所以我不再理会他们。这是主说的。主又说，那些日子以后，我将与以色列家立这样的约，我要把我的律法放在他们脑中，写在他们心上。我要做他们的上帝，他们要做我的子民。谁都无需再教导自己的邻居和弟兄，说，‘你要认识主。’因为他们无论尊卑都必认识我。我要赦免他们的过犯，忘掉他们的罪恶。”上帝既然说要立新约，就是把以前的约当作旧的了，那渐渐过时、陈旧的东西很快就会消失。

愿赐平安的上帝，就是那位凭着立永恒之约的血使群羊的大牧人——我主耶稣从死里复活的上帝，在各样善事上成全你们，好使你们遵行祂的旨意，并借着主耶稣在你们心中动工，使你们做祂喜悦的事！愿荣耀归给上帝，直到永永远远。阿们！

不过，主再来的日子要像贼一样突然临到。那日，诸天必在一声巨响中消失，有形有质的都要被烈火焚毁，大地和其中的一切将不复存在。一切都要这样被焚毁，你们在热切等候上帝来临的日子期间，该怎样过圣洁、敬虔的生活啊！因为到那日，天要被火焚毁，有形有质的都要被烈火熔化烧尽。

他们不再饥渴，也不再被热风和烈日灼伤，因为怜悯他们的那位必引导他们，领他们到泉水边。

我的家在上帝面前不正是如此吗？上帝与我立下永远的约，这约稳妥可靠。祂必拯救我，成全我的愿望。

我实在告诉你们，就是到天地都消失了，律法的一点一划都不会废除，全都要成就。

我告诉你，你是彼得，我要在这磐石上建立我的教会，阴间的势力不能胜过它。

借着重生之洗和圣灵的更新拯救了我们，这并非因为我们有义行，而是因为祂的怜悯。
