But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.

斯實耶和華之旨、使之糜爛、憂心悄悄、獻祭贖罪、可享遐齡、若子若孫、熾昌弗絕、耶和華之志、無不大成。

主願使之受折磨、受苦楚、以己身獻為贖罪祭後、必得見後裔、壽命綿延、主之志必藉以大成、主之志必藉以大成或作其手所行主之事無不亨通

Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.

The Lord says,“ It was my plan to crush him and cause him to suffer. I made his life an offering to pay for sin. But he will see all his children after him. In fact, he will continue to live. My plan will be brought about through him.

Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

Yet the LORD was pleased to crush him severely. When you make him a guilt offering, he will see his seed, he will prolong his days, and by his hand, the LORD’s pleasure will be accomplished.

But the Lord desired To crush Him, causing Him grief; If He renders Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the Lord will prosper in His hand.

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

Yet it pleased Jehovah to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of Jehovah shall prosper in his hand.

Yet the Lord was pleased to crush Him severely. When You make Him a restitution offering, He will see His seed, He will prolong His days, and by His hand, the Lord’s pleasure will be accomplished.

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put[ him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see[ his] seed, he shall prolong[ his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

Though the LORD desired to crush him and make him ill, once restitution is made, he will see descendants and enjoy long life, and the LORD’s purpose will be accomplished through him.

Yet it pleased Yahweh to bruise him. He has caused him to suffer. When you make his soul an offering for sin, he will see his offspring. He will prolong his days and Yahweh’s pleasure will prosper in his hand.

Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

But Christ has rescued us from the curse pronounced by the law. When he was hung on the cross, he took upon himself the curse for our wrongdoing. For it is written in the Scriptures,“ Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”

God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins!But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all.

“ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, the man who is my partner,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ Strike down the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn against the lambs.

We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him.

We have an altar from which the priests in the Tabernacle have no right to eat.Under the old system, the high priest brought the blood of animals into the Holy Place as a sacrifice for sin, and the bodies of the animals were burned outside the camp.So also Jesus suffered and died outside the city gates to make his people holy by means of his own blood.

I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier, because he exposed himself to death. He was counted among the rebels. He bore the sins of many and interceded for rebels.

That’s why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God.

I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels— a plentiful harvest of new lives.

I am the living one. I died, but look— I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them.For I have come down from heaven to do the will of God who sent me, not to do my own will.And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day.For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”

Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.

“ Look at my servant, whom I strengthen. He is my chosen one, who pleases me. I have put my Spirit upon him. He will bring justice to the nations.

He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.

And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast,for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life. He was lost, but now he is found.’ So the party began.

God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.This is real love— not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

And when he has found it, he will joyfully carry it home on his shoulders.When he arrives, he will call together his friends and neighbors, saying,‘ Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!

And a voice from heaven said,“ This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”

You were not pleased with burnt offerings or other offerings for sin.Then I said,‘ Look, I have come to do your will, O God— as is written about me in the Scriptures.’”First, Christ said,“ You did not want animal sacrifices or sin offerings or burnt offerings or other offerings for sin, nor were you pleased with them”( though they are required by the law of Moses).Then he said,“ Look, I have come to do your will.” He cancels the first covenant in order to put the second into effect.For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins.But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip.King David said this about him:‘ I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope.For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your Holy One to rot in the grave.You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.’

Our children will also serve him. Future generations will hear about the wonders of the Lord.

But even as he spoke, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,“ This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.”

God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ— which is to fulfill his own good plan.

Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.

For the Lord delights in his people; he crowns the humble with victory.

It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills will burst into song, and the trees of the field will clap their hands!Where once there were thorns, cypress trees will grow. Where nettles grew, myrtles will sprout up. These events will bring great honor to the Lord’s name; they will be an everlasting sign of his power and love.”

Your sons will become kings like their father. You will make them rulers over many lands.I will bring honor to your name in every generation. Therefore, the nations will praise you forever and ever.

As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence.He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal— it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.

No, the Lord’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love.

As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?

For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love.

I will find joy doing good for them and will faithfully and wholeheartedly replant them in this land.

Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God.

“ A period of seventy sets of seven has been decreed for your people and your holy city to finish their rebellion, to put an end to their sin, to atone for their guilt, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to confirm the prophetic vision, and to anoint the Most Holy Place.

I will preserve an heir for him; his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven.

They will live in the land I gave my servant Jacob, the land where their ancestors lived. They and their children and their grandchildren after them will live there forever, generation after generation. And my servant David will be their prince forever.

No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.For you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

Unlike those other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices every day. They did this for their own sins first and then for the sins of the people. But Jesus did this once for all when he offered himself as the sacrifice for the people’s sins.

When you go to war, your people will serve you willingly. You are arrayed in holy garments, and your strength will be renewed each day like the morning dew.

May all the godly flourish during his reign. May there be abundant prosperity until the moon is no more.

He asked you to preserve his life, and you granted his request. The days of his life stretch on forever.

The Lord will hold you in his hand for all to see— a splendid crown in the hand of God.Never again will you be called“ The Forsaken City” or“ The Desolate Land.” Your new name will be“ The City of God’s Delight” and“ The Bride of God,” for the Lord delights in you and will claim you as his bride.Your children will commit themselves to you, O Jerusalem, just as a young man commits himself to his bride. Then God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride.

So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.

He also said,“ I will put my trust in him,” that is,“ I and the children God has given me.”

To the one you have punished, they add insult to injury; they add to the pain of those you have hurt.

His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!

And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”

May the king’s name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun shines. May all nations be blessed through him and bring him praise.

Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed!Truth springs up from the earth, and righteousness smiles down from heaven.Yes, the Lord pours down his blessings. Our land will yield its bountiful harvest.

His dynasty will go on forever; his kingdom will endure as the sun.

And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal.If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice.
