his form was so marred he no longer looked human– so now he will startle many nations. Kings will be shocked by his exaltation, for they will witness something unannounced to them, and they will understand something they had not heard about.

so he will sprinkle many nations, and kings will shut their mouths because of him. For what they were not told, they will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.

But many nations will be surprised when they see what he has done. Kings will be so amazed that they will not be able to say anything. They will understand things they were never told. They will know the meaning of things they never heard.”

This is what the LORD, the protector of Israel, their Holy One, says to the one who is despised and rejected by nations, a servant of rulers:“ Kings will see and rise in respect, princes will bow down, because of the faithful LORD, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen you.”

Look, you will summon nations you did not previously know; nations that did not previously know you will run to you, because of the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he bestows honor on you.

By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of the blood, so that the one who destroyed the firstborn would not touch them.

I will sprinkle you with pure water and you will be clean from all your impurities. I will purify you from all your idols.

and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks of something better than Abel’s does.

Kings will be your children’s guardians; their princesses will nurse your children. With their faces to the ground they will bow down to you and they will lick the dirt on your feet. Then you will recognize that I am the LORD; those who wait patiently for me are not put to shame.

And in this way I desire to preach where Christ has not been named, so as not to build on another person’s foundation,but as it is written:“ Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.”

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

the chief men refrained from talking and covered their mouths with their hands;the voices of the nobles fell silent, and their tongues stuck to the roof of their mouths.

For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow sprinkled on those who are defiled consecrated them and provided ritual purity,how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our consciences from dead works to worship the living God.

according to the foreknowledge of God the Father by being set apart by the Spirit for obedience and for sprinkling with Jesus Christ’s blood. May grace and peace be yours in full measure!

So then, exalted to the right hand of God, and having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father, he has poured out what you both see and hear.

I am ready to vindicate, I am ready to deliver, I will establish justice among the nations. The coastlands wait patiently for me; they wait in anticipation for the revelation of my power.

Now this secret was not disclosed to people in former generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit,namely, that through the gospel the Gentiles are fellow heirs, fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus.I became a servant of this gospel according to the gift of God’s grace that was given to me by the exercise of his power.To me– less than the least of all the saints– this grace was given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christand to enlighten everyone about God’s secret plan– a secret that has been hidden for ages in God who has created all things.

Be silent in the LORD’s presence, all people everywhere, for he is being moved to action in his holy dwelling place.

let us draw near with a sincere heart in the assurance that faith brings, because we have had our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.

Nations will see this and be disappointed by all their strength, they will put their hands over their mouths, and act as if they were deaf.They will lick the dust like a snake, like serpents crawling on the ground. They will come trembling from their strongholds to the LORD our God; they will be terrified of you.

And do this to them to purify them: Sprinkle water of purification on them; then have them shave all their body and wash their clothes, and so purify themselves.

Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that had been kept secret for long ages,but now is disclosed, and through the prophetic scriptures has been made known to all the nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith–

“ Indeed, I am completely unworthy– how could I reply to you? I put my hand over my mouth to silence myself.

he saved us not by works of righteousness that we have done but on the basis of his mercy, through the washing of the new birth and the renewing of the Holy Spirit,whom he poured out on us in full measure through Jesus Christ our Savior.

Before him the coastlands will bow down, and his enemies will lick the dust.The kings of Tarshish and the coastlands will offer gifts; the kings of Sheba and Seba will bring tribute.All kings will bow down to him; all nations will serve him.
